My wife is always pestering me to try it, that and Pilates.
If you do it let me know how your liking it. I might start messing with it too. I need to start up on something as well, my flexibility sucks.

Will try it right after my "man card" expires. Do not believe that my Father tried it either...

I took pilates for a while and it kicked my a$$. My core strength and flexibility improved every week.
I only took a few yoga classes, I didnt like it as much. Thing is, a lot depends on the instructor. Try a few different instructors if you can, each puts a different spin on things. |

I did it for a while with my wife, it is a good workout and definitley gets all muscles and joints a good exercise. I reccomend anyone try it. Most professional athletes incorporate it into their training, it helps balance, strength and flexibility, focus. Very invigorating afterwards, apparently also good for digestion, circulation etc. (weight loss too, depending on the style of Yoga, it can also be a good cardio)
Bonus if you have a cute instructor.

I'd be willing to try yoga if the instructor would spin on things

Different instructors will give totally different experiences. I personally just tried it 2 months ago, and it is more of a workout than you would expect. It can be quite hardcore if the intstructor makes it that way.

Good idea, everybody needs strength and flexibility.
When I was going to school in SF, there was a group that did Tai Chi in the park every morning. You would think if some 90 year old Chinese guy could do it, it would be a piece of cake for a 25 yo who rode his bike a few hundred miles a week, but you would be wrong

I've lost a LOT of flexibility. I'm getting old and this kind of exercise would probably be really good for me. Plus, it's somewhat meditative which would perhaps give me a periodic time for relaxation and focus.
Plus, I've heard that yoga classes are filled with thin, attractive women with time on their hands.

I'm going to try it.
My simple running and basic strength training routine is getting monotonous. YouTube has some good yoga video; I've been trying some of the basic stuff, but would like to try a class. I've got no problem with "masculinity" judgments from the knuckle-draggers.

I had a lady friend teach me the "salute to the sun" many years ago, great way to start off the day... I should start doing it again.
I would also like to get into some kind program like this, I'm looking into a Tai Chi class in my area.

i used to do it. yoga will kick your ass if you are not in shape, and if you use it to get in shape, you will be damn healthy, breath better, more flexible, strong and mentally focused and, most importantly, relaxed. if you think yoga is about sitting indian-style on a matt and chanting mantras for an hour, you are wrong.
