I went thru this training ,and have instructed there as well.
We used goats, they are sedated.
NO ABUSE is permitted !
This training is very realistic..but then so is a bullet in your fellow soldier.
As for being distraught, BS...folks training at this level want to be the best.
I learned to suture like this..
rubber crutch handle, pigs foot, then moved on to drunks & civilians.
IV's..we stuck plastic arms and then each other.

I have a friend who is in PETA and he uses the alias Misanthrope on IM. Everytime he gives me crap I tell him to go F his Spotted Owl and have the Baby Seals film it. Still I can't hate him, he's one of the funniest dudes on the planet, true story.

dhoward and mt930 got there first. Check out the BULL**** episode on PETA. I looked around the internet and think that Penn and Teller are right. they kill more animals than any other single organization per year.

Just a heads-up.

The Humane Society of the United States is a front group funded by PETA and not to be confused with your local Humane Society (which do not have a central organization).

They created this group to give a second voice and credibility to their crazy ideas.

Interesting that they are more worried about the pigs than the soldiers and their training. You can't tell me that there are any "simulators" that will bleed like a pig when shot with an M16.

Years ago they broke into our research kennels and released all of our dogs onto the streets. Quite a few of them were subsequently maimed or killed on the local highway. Frankly, PETA was lucky no people were seriously injured as a result of trying to avoid or in a collision with the dogs given the local freeway speeds.
