Bought a 93 VFR

Some of you know that like Shaun, my CB400f was a nice introduction to motorcycling but as I rode more, especially on the freeway, I was itching for a bigger and more modern ride but on a budget of close to what I could sell the CB for. Well, that didn't take too long. I've been watching CL closely and looking at CBR600's and VFR's. I didn't like the 4fi I rode, very twitchy throttle, not much bigger than my CB400f and just felt wrong.

The VFR on the other hand fit me like a glove, very smooth and impeccably cared for. Maintenance up to date and full service history and books. It was love at first ride. It's got 33,000 miles, has a very nicely done yellow paint job at some point vs. the original white, corbin seat and some other goodies. I don't know if I would have picked yellow but the visibility is nice and it's growing on me. I was just so impressed with the seller. He takes really good care of his stuff and was a super nice guy. He had an older Goldwing in his garage that looks showroom new and has almost 100,000 miles. He rides almost every day and replaced this one with an 02. The only cosmetic issue is an area on the right side where the bike was partially dropped from the center stand. That got the price down below $3,000, about where I can sell the CB for.....

I took the long way home from his house. He only lived 15 minutes away, somehow took me close to an hour to make it back. Freaked my daughter out a bit who took me to pick it up.

Thumbs up

Great bikes, '93 was a vintage year IMO due to styling change in '94. The 1990-93 bikes were the best-looking and had the bullet-proof motor. Nice score!

Saw the subject and thought you got a 93fv with a different option from mine...

Guess not, huh?

I'd love to keep both but am running out of storage room and could use the $'s. Plus my 16 year old son thinks I should keep it for him. We ride dirt bikes together but I don't want him on a street bike for at least a few years while he gets some experience in a car on the road.

It is fun to look at though......

We sold our 93 VFR about two years ago. Sincerely regret that. Wonderful riding bike. I had a CBR 600, my husband had the VFR. I wound up selling the CBR because I as ALWAYS riding the VFR...

Ours had a two-brothers titanium exhaust. Sounded awesome!

Love the VFR engines, a fan of the VFR400 myself. Not sold here in the states however...

in a couple years your kid will have scraped together some money, and he'll go straight for the beat to hell GSX-R1000 with the bald tires. better to have a nice tame 400 waiting for him.

I had a 1991 vfr. Great bike all-round but what sold me was the v4 with the wonderful sound from those gear driven cams. Such pretty music.
