Oh why Oh why did we get all the negative remarks...We only trashed the people on this BBS, the United States and the US President? Don't they understand that all the problems in the world are caused by the US...while everyone else is just trying to spread goodness and light. Especially the French; they are perfect in every way.

I have been thare and it is not all it is crarked up to be. Picture an 65 year old French woman that is 40 lbs overweight frolicking in the surf at that topless beach. She has never shaved a body part in her life...much less used deodorant. Kind of like seeing the bride of bigfoot or at least a Jane Goodall documentary.

The point of this thread was not the French people, it was the brave Frenchmen who died.

If you read the posts that I quoted in that post...you will see that for a certain few...it was just an opportunity to poke a finger in our eye...bash the US under the cover of the deaths of some French troops...how dishonorable.

I've been there; you say you've been there...I have no problem honoring a soldier that has died serving his country...God bless them all.
...but I resent, like hell, the slam of my country and its leadership that came along with the post.
---and also resent the problems that our "ally"France has caused for our military over the years...everything from endangering our aircrews striking Libya by making our warplanes fly around French airspace to their "oil for food" scandal to prop up Saddam. Of course I don't blame the soldiers...I blame the French government and those that put them in place.

Part of my family came from the Alsace region of France and I want to go back someday and see where they came from. What's the area like? Is there anything in particular that a visitor should go see?
