My wife's SRT8 re-do almost exactly 1 year ago. Install new OE heater core, a/c evap, tighten all mounting bolts, install replacement OE NAV unit, repair steering wheel leather, install additional sound deadening, replaced the carpet, rejuvenated the leather seats.




Was still putting final touches on steering wheel in this shot, so not installed

After three hours with a air brush my motor compartment paint now matches the outside! I just like the look much better, as it looked like it was beat hard and very tired. With a rebuilt motor that looks like new, the surroundings will match.

Was the sound deadening effective? My 996 is not a quiet car....

I did something similar years ago when I first got my 911SC (car had been repainted from Butterscotch to GrandPrix white before I bought it).... Except I brushed mine in using automotive paint... You could not tell it was brushed and still looks great all these years later.

Yes, what you see are pieces of same stuff ( jute padding) that is used under carpet in most cars/ trucks since waaaaay back when. I typically use a foil/ tar adhesive sheet like dyna mat directly on the inside metal panels with jute padding next, then the carpet.

In the tailgate, rear wheel/ quarter panels I use sound deadening that motoryachts use to insulate the cabin from engine room noise. That comes in sheets as well, but a little pricey

There is a way to make those bottles look new i think something with peroxide. look it up

I dont think there is an official term, but a lot of people call it retrobright. You basically submerge the part in a tub of peroxide and put it in direct sunlight for several hours (longer depending on how bad the yellowing is). You can also use UV lights.

Lots of youtube videos on it...seems to work well, at least for old computer/gaming systems that have yellowed over time.
