Ben, I think your dad would have been proud of you with what you have done with those old walnut slabs.

I met a woman years ago making hand made tables. She would cut bits of glass, just ordinary window glass, and use it as a scraper across the surface of the table top. Instead of sandpaper fluffing up the surface the freshly cut pieces of glass would make it perfectly smooth and flat. then she oiled it with linseed or something like that. Looked great.

Yes fine woodworkers like luthiers dont use sandpaper at all only planes and scrapers.

Late 40's - early 50's Murray Scoop fender that was bought new by extended family member. Then suffered abuse through @10 kids and a million kid miles until there was nothing left of it.

Here it is after dismantling, bead blasting and @8 hours of metal work

After a summer's worth of hard labor, body hammers and dollies, sanding, priming, block sanding, priming, did I mentions sanding? painting and restoring all the original parts but for the hubcaps which were exact copy's and making the seat / upholstery.

My sister picked the color that I gave her from early 50's GM car, picked the fabric for the seat

Per the article, it's off to the crusher, which is normal for test mule disposal.

That woman in the above pic is a sad story man. From experience hard drugs like meth or opiates are nothing to play around with.

^^^ Stunning transformation and nice to see great taste!

If that fireplace in the kitchen still works, I'd be grilling ribeyes over wood a few times a month.

If you're 36 inches tall, maybe...

Fantastic restoration. Assume structure was good, water damage minimal.
