The doctor's say Jaime is still where we want her to be. Things are progressing as expected. The Adam Williams Initiative are the protocols being used and have been used around the country with much success.

Today things are still the same. Continue to pray for the pressures to stay down, she continues to get good oxygenation of the brain , that the fluid continues to clear and no infections develop.
We sure appreciate all the guestbook entries.

Jaime will be having a CT Scan tomorrow morning. Please pray that Jaime tolerates that ok and everything comes out ok. Today has been pretty much as the last few days. They have been slowly cutting back on medications.
This is a long drawn out ordeal but please continue to pray.
Thank you.

Hi Kevin
Steve here. you painted my blue SC a couple of weeks ago.
I am sure the Doctors have told you this but things good with TBI's don't usually happen fast. It's the bad things that happen quick and from the sounds of the reports she is doing great!
I have been through a TBI with my oldest son.
Slow and steady is good news
My family will keep praying for this young lady. We had everyone we ever met and a whole bunch of prayer networks going for my son and I believe it really helped!
Try and keep strong for your friend. As a parent you will have tuff moments and you need lots of support.
Thanks for putting this on the board.
Giving back through prayer is a wonderful thing

Steve

Hi Steve I saw your entry in Jaime's guest book as well as others from Pelican and I appreciate the prayers and positive thoughts offered. I know from personal experience that Jaime's recovery will be a long and painfully slow ordeal. The updates that I keep posting are cut and pasted journal entries from her mother.

It's hard for me to talk about the subject without trying to say that these people don't deserve this to have happened to them, no one really deserves something like this to happen to their kids. Kurt and Deb are fine hard working God loving people who have raised some fine children and it tears me up to see them go thru this and for what may follow.
Thanks to everyone for their continued prayers and words of encouragement.

Goods News from Jaime's mom

MONDAY, JANUARY 05, 2009 09:34 PM, CST
Jaime tolerated the CT scan well. The swelling is less and most of the blood is gone from the ventricles. The cerebral pressures have been down for about 24 hours. They are starting to back off medications and treatments in hope that they won't be needed to keep the pressures down and her body will take over. This again is a very slow process so please pray that things continue in the right direction.
Thanks again

More positive progress

TUESDAY, JANUARY 06, 2009 09:23 PM, CST
The doctors have started moving the drain up in the slow process of seeing if Jaime's body is ready to take over what the drain is doing. The first step went well so far. The cerebral fluid was just a little lighter today.Tomorrow we have a family meeting for an update. Pray that all goes well and we continue to move forward.
