On a lighter note; I had a buddy back in my "Edmonton, AB" days; his name was Wade. Wade and an uncanny ability to meet a girl and within 5 or 10 minutes she would start doing the girls gone wild dance for all of us. Happened many times; he was always a good guy to party with.

I've only seen the commercials and then I heard this interview. Such is life, another burst bubble of inspiration

How 'bout a 17 yo girl who was provided drugs and alcohol by this guy and his crew over a 4 day period before "goin' Wild" and being filmed? Admittedly, she had lied to her mother and snuck away on a spring break trip with some college friends. But still...she was a minor and ya gotta draw the line somewhere. Some of the girls who were over 18 did not recover in the lawsuit.

I'm only PO'd because I wasn't her lawyer

This reminds me of the Traci Lords scandal. Who's responsible if a minor produces a very good fake ID and signs their name to a false statement? I remember a friend in college being killed in a drunk driving accident. When they found her, she had several fake ID's on her, all of which were so good, the cops couldn't figure out who she really was. Why was the bar on the hook for serving an underage person.

We can spew examples back on foth on this. For example, a relative small number of states allow a very narrow "mistaken age" defense in statutory rape cases. Most do not. Interestingly, I do not think any jurisdiction allows a mistake defense when it comes to contracts; i.e., someone lieing to buy/finance a car.

FWIW, to my knowlege the 17 y.0. I referred to did not sign a release. So what if we couch her complaint in terms of an unjust enrichment lawsuit? He made millions off of her on camera antics and all she got was a little booze and blow for her efforts. Would you be more comfortable with that theory of recovery?

I agree with you here. He would've asked for her i.d. right? Any shrewd business man in this industry would have. He did, no question, but thought nothing would come of it. Total scuzzbucket.

Well, if it makes you feel any better, after paying her attorneys and expenses, she ended up with a $500,000+ tax bill from the IRS. Since there was no physical injury it was taxable. So she didn't get screwed on camera but got screwed by her incestuous Uncle Sam.

And as a further twist, she's suing her attorneys for not telling her about the tax consequences when she accepted the offer to settle.
