I guess for once i was trying to give the cops the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps you're right.

And i don't hate cops. I hate bad, unqualified, incompetent, dirty, corrupt, power abusing, above the law lazy cops. And in their case, hate is not a strong enough word. I despise them utterly.

I thought they showed quite a bit of restraint. How long do the cops have to go back and forth "negotiating" with the guy to put his clothes back on?

They were pretty nice to him for quite a while, handing him his clothes, only to have him laugh and toss them away again.

When it gets to the point where they finally decide to take him in, and he refuses to put his hands behind his back to be cuffed, what should they do? Keep asking him nicely?

IMO once a cop says "You are under arrest, put your hands behind your back" you really have to comply. If you don't, you are resisting arrest and they are going to use force to effectuate the arrest. At that point, the underlying crime isn't hugely significant.

Seems to me they only used increasing force as he increased his resistance. There would have been no force if he would have just put his hands behind his back when they asked. There would have been only one tasering if the would have just complied after that. So they increased. As soon as he complied, they stopped.

I do agree, however, that some sympathy should be extended due to his unfortunate lack of endowment. Can't say I've seen a lot of penises in my life, but damn.

I agree with "the". One of the cops actually waves off the guy with a taser, but eventually, the jackass who is mad at the world, and has every right to be, got what he deserved.

I think, after watching, it was a set-up against the cops. The guy getting tazed knew he was being recorded, and wanted his 15 minutes of fame on vimeo/youtube. He pushed the officers until they had to do something.

I think the officers showed alot of restraint when he was mouthing off, and grabbing the officer's shoulders. He was given quite a few opportunities to back down peacefully.

The cops showed great restraint. They asked over and over for him to put on his clothes. The cops don't know if he has full blown AIDS or some other disease. It is obvious the jerk was acting irrational. What were the cops supposed to do just let him parade around naked and stoned until he decided to get in his car and drive home? When the stoned jerk crashes into your family how many hours will it be before you are suing the cops for not taking him to jail when they had clear cause to do so?

Nonsense. This is not about driving while stoned. He was at the Coachella Art and Music festival. EVERYONE is stoned.

No one appeared to be offended by the wizard's nakedness. The cops should have ignored him completely.

That was my main impression. Holy balls. If three (3) fairly large cops can't get cuffs on a guy who looks like the Pillsbury dough boy because he's squirming away from them like a little girl, WTF are they going to do when the Vagos start fighting the Mongols or something? Heaven help us with those dipshyts protecting us. That was pathetic.

I actually agree that when you blatantly refuse to comply with a cop's orders, you're begging for an ass-kicking. What does he think is going to happen?? These cops couldn't even do that. Maybe they were just laughing too hard because the guy was hung like a pimple(?) I dunno. The cops were reasonable at first, telling the guy that if he put his clothes back on, he could stay and enjoy the music. No harm/no foul since he would not have even scared a small child with that knob. He wanted to "take it to the limit" and that's what happened.

Even the cute girl smiling in front of him didn't make the turtle come out of its shell. Why would he want to show-off that thing?
