They could get the cuffs on him, and in fact they did. Didn't you see the end of the video?

Could they have done it quicker? Sure, one blow to the head with the baton and it's done in 3 seconds. Or while he's squirming around, a quick hard yank to the arm while your knee is in his back, and he's cuffed. Of course, you'd probably end up breaking his arm, dislocating his shoulder or otherwise seriously injuring him. A chokehold to unconsciousness with the baton would have worked, too.

If their goal was to quickly cuff him, without regard to injuring him, they could have easily done it any number of ways. With the physical manhandling, they were for the most part being pretty gentle with him. They finally used the taser as a non-lethal way to get him to comply, without having to crack his skull. Seemed to work ok.

As it was, they took a little more time, but neither he, the cops or anyone else got hurt, and he was taken away.

I don't know what Vagos or Mongols are, but that sounds serious. If it were to escalate, what would the cops do? I suspect they'd then use those firearms they always carry around.

What's the downside to ignoring the wizard with the tiny pee-pee?

This isn't the 60s and that wasn't Woodstock.

This was the Coachella Concert Presented by AT&T, State Farm, et al.

I appreciate the Hippy™ sentiment, and maybe we'll get there someday, but we are not yet at a point in our society where you can walk around buck naked at a large corporate public event and not expect the police to ask you to put your clothes back on.

That's just plain silly.

He had his fun, the cops were good natured and were obviously not going to arrest him or give him a ticket, they simply asked him to put his clothes back on. That was in the "Hippy™ spirit" of the event. (Try it at a baseball game, go straight to jail). Heck, he taunted them and threw his clothes, they fetched it and gave him more chances. These cops were extremely reasonable and patient with this buffoon.

Note to self. Avoid swimming in cold water before baring all. Was he sitting on a block of ice before the video started?

The police came off looking inept. They could avoided the entire ordeal by just taking control of the situation early and marching him off to security area.

Why do some people openly show their shortcomings?

I guess the upside to having a dink like that is that you could walk around all day with a chubby and no one would notice. I always try to see the silver lining in things.

There's 3 of them

Knock him down, sit on him, put him in a wrist lock, he WILL comply.

Again, there were 3 of them. Tazing him 10+ times....insanity.

Maybe the "Very Small" spell was what caused the affliction in the first place?

I have to say that I'm amazed that three chunky cops couldn't restrain one pot head without resorting to the Tazer. Pretty embarrassing from their point of view, but not as embarrassing as maggot man.
