From the moment you grow your brain (about age 25?) you start to build a foundation for your life..... that foundation will bring you much happiness if built properly. Now we have alot more info (prolly more than we should) and it's become clear that sniper is a percentile type personality (less than 1% I'd say) so 99/100 guys are gonna be different than him, and therefore likely not relate. Snipe and I have always gotten along, and I try my very best to respect the people on this board; but if we were personal friends, eyeball to eyeball, I'd be telling you to get your shyte together or F off. Now keep in mind, I'm a 49 yo businessman that somewhat conformed to societies stereotype of such. I've raised 5 kids with my wife that I love very much. I find 100% of my joy in family and personal relationships; so that being said, I don't think the two of us could relate on topics regarding this nature. So I'll keep my personal views aside and not judge you for your lifestyle choices.

Life can be enjoyed in many ways; we all get to choose; sobeit. There is no joy greater than the joy of raising a loving, happy family that one day allows you to bounce your grandkids on your knee while you still have a twinkle in your eye for your lover, their grandma....... many throw it away before they experience the full joy.

At age 40, you've made a gazillion different lifestyle choices than I ever made and it would be a bloody miracle for you to relate to my choices. I just hope the young people that chime in here can see the differences AND understand that real meaning in life, imo, comes from building respectful relationships with like minded people.

I don't think Dr's and Lawyers should be chiming in criticizing your lifestyle choices, fact being that 99/100 guys would never make the choices you've made; ain't it great how life works! You're more likely to be 1/1000? We tend to want to stereotype people, but how do you stereotype someone that is 1/1000? So have at er!

So the girl would be among the top 1/3 cutest girls in your school...i can live with snacking on the top 33%. You? (actually i think if you factored in all girls, including the big fat ones and the dog ugly ones you'd re-evaluate and say she's among the top 1/3 of do-able girls in your school. )

To my taste, she's in the top 15%, and IMO anyone in the top 15% is definitely well into hottie material. Now factor in the fact that she is a lesbian, and does not normally ever do men, and IMO that adds a good 10% to her hotness factor, because of the unobtainable nature of the prize. That to me takes her from hot, to red hot. So there you have my rationale.

Or the adam lambert thread as another example), others are positive, and instead give compliments. I have accepted that reality a very long time ago.

I play to a few specific audiences, girls that love the "long haired rock and roll bad boy" look, cougars that miss the 80s, girls that love the long haired "ancient warrior" type (i believe this is my in with goth chicks, who feel drawn to mythic ideals and those ancient times). Biker chicks dig me a lot too, but i don't usually mess with them, they're too skanky for my tastes.

At any rate, among those sorts of girls i might as well be Brad Pitt (in fact those sorts of girls routinely tell me i'm way hotter than him, as an example of the subjectiveness of looks (i think they're crazy, but i digress)- i'm sure the peanut gallery will scoff, but it's the absolute truth- hear it every single day).

To "nice girls", well they don't usually give me the time of day (exception being when they've been recently hurt and they want something way outside their normal strike zone to make themselves feel as if they can still be naughty or make their ex squirm), but that's fine, because i would be bored to tears with such women, and i get bored easily.

So why am i not married? Because the sorts of women i like are not exactly marrying material, and the girls that are(if such a thing exists) would lose my interest in a matter of months. I've tried dating nice girls, sorry, being tied to eating the same damn crackers every.single.day. is just not the life for me.

I need to live life loosely, to be free. It makes me happy, but of course, it causes others to judge me.

Honestly your life is to me an approxomation of hell. I do not begrudge you of it however, nor would i ever judge you for it, but it's not the life for me. Me, as i said in another thread, i have my eyes on a certain lady. I talk to her every day and she's my long term goal, and i am soon moving to the mountains of Pa myself. I also said i'd just came out of a bad engagement with an insane South American woman, and i needed to re-sow my oats and get it all out of my system before i attempted that lifestyle again. If it's meant to be i will end up in a situation very similar to that of Motion, which you just admitted is a very nice place to be.

But all that being said i still won't get married- love has nothing to do with a permission slip from the state- and i see no need to give 1/2 my stuff to a woman i hate if it does not work out, and i still won't have kids, i don't want them. Never have, (almost certainly) never will.

I have dated some nurses, and some educated women- mostly of the cougar variety (and tons of young college, ermmm...sluts). It is because i have done so that i have decided i prefer "service industry girls"- many of whom by the way are very interesting and intelligent people in their own right. And often with much smaller egos and senses of entitlement.

Both types have their upside. Both types have their downside.

What i like about your post is that you said what you said without an air of condescention and with an actual effort to understand where i'm coming from.

Your post lacked bitterness, or one upmanship, or jealousy, or an attempt to force me to conform with your own ideals of the norm, which is something i cannot say for some of the other posts in this thread.

This thread was intended as a fun diversion, and to amuse the boys at pelican with true tales of my attempt at converting a lesbian.
