That really sucks Will - that was a kool kar! I've never owned a BMW but this would be the one I'd want - this series. A rag top though.....

Good luck with the repairs!!!

That's because the engine is worth more than the car.

I hope that 320 wet sand was for the primer coat and not finish coat. I normally go from 400 to 1000 to 2000 for the final coat.

I found a parts car for $250 on CL.

I'll have it back in town either this weekend or next.

It must be a NoCal thing cause E30's are just not available in SoCal unless you are looking to spend $5K+

So jealous right now...

Not sure where you are looking as I've seen plenty of nice ones under $5K.

Picked up this $250 parts car tonight.

I think it looks cool with my yellow race rims.

BMW Roundel

**UPDATE**

Another month has passed and good progress has been made.

The young owner, and now fellow Pelican, has disassembled both cars.
He also found a good radiator, bumper trims and front seats for the car at Pick-n-Pull

Tonight we cut out the inner fender well from the parts car and welded it into the crashed car. Also added the headlight console sheet metal.

This was a four hour job!

This is the inner fender well from the donor.

This is the inner fender well from the project.

The car's owner says he's going to drive it tomorrow...

Maybe he'll post on this thread and introduce himself.

+1!

He will never forget that you did this for him and you have probably created another gear head. Nice to be able to pass these abilities on to a new generation.
