If trek doesn't want the Borbets I might be interested for the Corrado.

**UPDATE TIME**
So we kept the car for a while. A 98 Volvo came along so I jumped on it. A friend was in a bad spot and needed a car so I gave him the BMW as a open ended loan. The only deal was when he was done with it he had to give it back. So I recently got it back, still in great shape. A young friend just got his license and I sold the car to him for $850. He was coming over to make his last payment yesterday and stuffed it into a guard rail while driving it in the rain for the first time. He is very bummed out. He's not hurt at all, but the car is pretty messed up. ![]() ![]() ![]() Any guesses on how much to repair? KT

The car is totaled. Mine was totaled too. But mine had nearly as much crumple and we were able to pull it back straight enough and with the help of a parts car (that had spun on the fwy and bashed up the rear) we were able to bring it back. Kevin Metzner did the work and saved the day. I am very grateful for him (Kevin).
Luckily my damage was mainly to the fender. The front piece was pretty good. The battery and everything like the fan was fine. It was a low-speed incident. A car pulled out of a parking lot exit, right in front of me, that is on a blind, descending turn just after a traffic circle. I tried aiming where she had come from, expecting her to continue on her trajectory, but she stopped. I did not stop completely. Brakes locked. Everyone was fine.

The fenders are a biatch. They are glued, then bolted. I would look for a parts car.

I know where a parts car is here in Napa.
I'll ask about it this week. Also have a body shop in Sacramento that may be able to help out. I was sad to see this after all the work I did. KT

It happens. My accident was almost exactly 1 year after getting my license and the car.

That is why you do not have a 911 for a daily driver when you are 16!

Yes, but that is not a natural oversteerer like the 911.
The E21 has trailing throttle oversteer but other than that it plows.

I wrecked a E21 the exact same way, in the rain too.
It's totalled, sorry to say. I suppose you COULD fix it, but it's going to cost much more than the car is worth. |

Heck, a busted tail light can total them they are so cheap to buy. Some parts are NLA but in general they are not nearly as bad as a 911 to maintain/fix.
They are a classic in my book, worth fixing up even if the repairs cost more than the car.

You sold it too cheap. Seriously, would it have been more $, the kid may have driven it a lot more carefully.

I've known the new owner since he was a young boy.
I gave him the car for the cost of the paint and body work. It was probably worth $2k. $3k if the interior was nice. He has already taken off the fender, bumper and front valence. I'm helping him locate a parts car for the restoration. KT

Accidents happen even to careful drivers. Aquaplaning can strike unexpectedly on a partially wet freeway and once you are aquaplaning there is no control. Remember Pat Long in that one ALMS race this season? I think it was Mid-Ohio.
