So about May 18th it might be done. I suspect the program will puke and give up or there will be some sort of problem. That is a crazy long time time.

The customer is happy with the 32 gig mosaic file we dilevered yesterday. AutoCAD actually opens it without a problem and they loved it.
perhaps it is time to step it up to a quad or eight core AMD somethin somethin....

If we did a lot of that we just might. That one job is very unusual because it is a large area at VERY high resolution. Most of the time we can get the files done fairly quick. Our most powerful workstation is a 4 CPU machine but the software is not optimised for multi-CPU computers. It does not run much faster for the Mr Sid program.

if it isn't optimized for multiple processors, it is probably a waste of time.

i looked up what is out there, just for grins, 12 CORE PROCESSORS!!!! holy cow! and they are only $1300! that is amazing.

Yea, when I start to spec out a dream machine it is a multi-processor multi-core machine with 64 Gigs of RAM, and a RAID5 drive system. I can dream big.

we had something like that here for a while. setting it up for a client to use to control a VCF and still be able to talk to the rest of the world. We had fun playing all sorts of high end flight sims on it. Then one day it was gone. A really sad day.........

I went to the Dell web site and they sure make it difficult to spec out a machine now.

I'll take three of the school girl in the pink hoodie!!!!

Well, I'm signing up for the EMT-B course tomorrow. I'm almost positive that I've already covered all of the material, but it'll be a good refresher and it's required to move on to the P course...

Well...had a bunch of work hit post dyno run.

Not too happy with the results, but very happy I did the run before sinking money into the cams yet.

Here is my run(red), a stock GTS (green), and the same stock GTS with the same x-pipe mine has (magenta). The other car has had no tuning except all new sensors, vacuum lines, etc., and stock cams retimed to stock specs. My car should be where the magenta run is?!?

Looking at the sniff my car is running a bit lean. It also looks like my timing is not advancing (the begining being low and the climb in torque as the two stage intake changes lagging the other car in the torque curve at around 3700-4000rpm.

I did this run both because I felt like the car was down on power, and wanted to make sure everything was working correctly before throwing cam money at it. I would hate to have spent the money on cams to find I wasn't even getting stock power and then trying to chase down the problems.

My peak hp was 278, it should be near the magenta run at 330. That's as much increase as I was expecting from the cams. No wonder I've been a little slower at the autocross. Looks like I will be spending the cam money on a major tune up... knock sensors, hall sensor, either having my injectors cleaned and flowed or new ones, and a new MAF, plugs wires, etc. Then I'll do another dyno run and see where it's at.

I guess the good thing is I should be able to get that 50hp for a lot less money than cams, valve springs, fuel injectors, and tuned chips.
