Done working for today.

Guess the Big Ed's burgers are all out of business. They had a Big Ed burger challenge. The owner sits in two chairs, so does his wife and each of his two kids. I also saw them arrive at one of their burger joints. Each was driving their own suburban. Many years ago at the OKC 4th of July Parade he did a worlds largest hamburger. His huge burgers were mainly the large diameter bun with lots of patties on it.

Glen, is that Irma's Burger Shack that has the all naturally grown no hormone burgers?

For 2012 the company I work for has started screening to qualify for 1/2 price health insurance. The screening is based on Blood Pressure, A1C, and body fat percentage. The health insurance cost for those that don't "qualify" is gong to double.

Then two slices of ham with cheese melted between them, a 6 oz burger pattie with cheese, then one fried egg, then three slices of bacon, and it has the other cheese sandwich on top. It is course a silly size "burger." The 15 year old version of me could have eaten with no problem. It sounds yummy but maybe a bit over the top.
Leave the egg off and I'm game.

Richard, yep it's Irma's. I have eaten there twice and just had a normal burger. It is very expensive for a burger.

Nice new GT3, not really into the black car and/or black wheels myself, but hey to each. Needs the calipers blacked out and the light lenses cleared for the full mean look.

Company explains the ins changes...Going to Cafeteria Plan that doesn't lose what you put into it at the end of the year. For that they had to go to a higher deductible and higher premium coverage. Company is putting difference in deductible in our pre-tax medical savings account. But...the monthly premium is higher. However, if you participate in the company wellness program you get a 50% discount on the monthly insurance premiums. Participation means either passing qualifications (BP, A1C, %body fat) or going to 2 hour wellness workshop. There is also a health risk assessment but they don't out and out state that information provided on the assessment will disqualify you for the discount.

I don't understand the money grubbing cafeteria thing. Why not just let me keep my monies in my bank account making interest for ME and then let me take my medical expenses off my income for taxes. You wouldn't need people and resources to manage the pre-tax cafeteria accounts (ie. I see as increasing medical cost). Just like the HMO stuff increase the administration costs of medical care instead of lowering the cost of medical care.

When our company started our wellness program many years ago they showed how much less the company was paying for medical benefits and praised the wellness program. However, in that same time frame our insurance changed from 100% paid by the company, to a $150 per month, per covered person, employee paid insurance premium group policy. If you added up the number of employees and their family members being paid for by the employee and the premiums they paid, it equalled the same amount the company was saving on medical benefits "due to the wellness program."

I just don't like the deception.

I thought Irma's burgers were good. I think the burgers are cooked in those vertical broilers. And hey, you get served by lesbians. That must be what makes them so expensive.

Went there one week and was served by a flirty cute chick waitress. The next week she was gone, but the aloof lesbian looking waitresses (flannel shirts and all) were all still there.

I'm eyeing this pristine 1987 944 Turbo in my area. $9K.

I feel like going and taking a test drive and just doing it. I could have some good fun. But it would mean selling my 986S, which has evolved into a 2800lb, 280HP rocket.

You would be going to a 230hp car that weighs 2900lbs. The turbo makes it FEEL faster though.

To make it fast you would need a fully balanced K27/8 turbo, MAF, MAF tuner, injectors, adj fuel pressure regulator, Stage II intercooler, boost controller, Vittesse chips, set it up to run 17psi boost, (330hp max) and suspension bits...front springs, torsion bars, adj front and rear sway bars, adj shocks. Also the S model 89 and newer had a hardened first and second gear, LSD, and comes with externally adjustable Koni shocks. Thats about $6000 in parts.

Oh, and that car is due for head gaskets within the next 20K just from age. Especially if you start cranking up the boost.
