Porsche-poor 06-03-2011 09:15 PM

Yeah that would kill me.

porsche4life 06-03-2011 09:21 PM

I got down to a can of coke a day this week... Lets hope I can hold that this weekend....

I have found that I can toss a teabag in my nalgene bottles and get a caffeine fix there...

Porsche-poor 06-03-2011 09:22 PM

two to three a day for me. I know its bad but I hate tea and coffee

porsche4life 06-03-2011 09:25 PM

When I'm around the house I know I hit 4-5 some days....

I figure I participate in enough things that might kill me, that it will be hard to nail down one specific cause... :D

Porsche-poor 06-03-2011 09:26 PM

thats a plan I could back. I try not to go over the 3 limit but some times its tuff.

porsche4life 06-03-2011 09:28 PM

I am pretty good at sticking to two a day at my apartment, but thats more financial than health... :D

Porsche-poor 06-03-2011 09:31 PM

been there done that long ago. Now its more a health issue.

slodave 06-03-2011 09:58 PM

I gave up soft drinks 6-7 years ago. Never cared for coffee or tea.

Porsche-poor 06-03-2011 09:59 PM

gave them up my god man thats insane! Or just plain good sense. Its my one vice besides the 911 that is.

porsche4life 06-03-2011 11:21 PM

I'd be dead if I gave them up... How else am I supposed to stay awake?

livi 06-03-2011 11:24 PM

Morning, boys!

6-8 cups of coffee daily for me. Never, ever any kind of soft drinks. A glass of wine every evening. Thats docīs recipe. :)

G-man be careful with paint choice for your fan. About the only paint that does not chip and flake off is powder paint. Those paint chips go right to the cooling fins on the engine.

Good evening guys. Friday night in the big town!

Hey!

That's the second time you give me good advice....
You do know this is not the tech section, do you?... :D
(You're not gonna start billing me for it I hope ;))

The center piece of the fan is cadmium plated I think.
I might have removed a bit of that with the scotch brite pad....

Wow, although that doesn't sound much, but that's quite a lot of sugar.
(if you're not drinking light or zero or stuff like that)
I consiously limit my softdrinks to two max, maybe three a week.
(But I don't always succeed...)
Coffee is another question, I need it in the morning. I don't start my 60 mile commute at 5.30am without it.

Well, it's more effective to stay awake than coffee or Coca Cola...
And it will get Sid hiking up a mountain at 14 miles/hour... :D

slodave 06-04-2011 01:40 AM

G, yes, cadmium for the center of the fan. Go the powder coating route.

Geronimo '74 06-04-2011 01:54 AM

How on earth am I going to get the center replated?
Do I need to remove it by drilling out the rivets???
These aren't your every day pop rivets.
Is the center going to rust if I don't have it replated?
I can just have it powdercoated too.

RKDinOKC 06-04-2011 01:55 AM

Beef Jerky works better than caffeine/sugar when you get drowsy. An absolute life saver driving at night.

Most drill the rivets. There are numerous threads on the tech side. Can't give you much more than that. :) Mine is OEM.

Kodiak worked pretty well with me...

Beef Jerky sounds like a better deal.

Rick V 06-04-2011 04:26 AM

Morning guys. I don't drink sodas at all, I just lost a taste for them, but I drink at least 2 pots of coffee during the day. It's a gotta have, I get headaches that would disable a jersey mule if I don't get my caffeine.

Geronimo '74 06-04-2011 01:00 PM
