Hi guys!

This thread is really picking up speed! Jolly good!

Time to take the Carrera for a spin. Most likely the last drive this season before winter hibernation.

livi 10-12-2011 07:48 AM

Back from a fantastic 30 miles drive in the country hills. Sleep well my little 3.2 - I will wake you up in April next year.

jhelgesen 10-12-2011 07:49 AM

Think I saw the roads salted here last night here in Jonkoping, is driving season over already?

livi 10-12-2011 08:02 AM

You in Jönköping?!

Yes, in the north and middle of Sweden the season is basically over, unless you are willing to drive on salt. Here in the south there may be a couple of more weeks to go but the likelihood of nice, dry weather is meager and besides, once I finish at work it is almost dark anyway. Sigh.

jhelgesen 10-12-2011 08:08 AM

Yeah, I'm here for another 10 days for work. Get to work in the dark, and leave at sunset. I can see the days getting shorter quick.

Wrenching on a race miata with a good friend in the evenings and weekends.

The weather hasn't been too bad, 50/50 rainy days, not too cold.

Porsche-poor 10-12-2011 08:20 AM

morning guys.
I think I will now bestow the title of post tease on "G". Some of us haveto sleep some time.

That must suck. I drive my 911 all year. It is rare that I don't get to drive it for more than a few weeks. The bad news is there are no curvy roads around here except interstate on and off ramps. But we have a autocross every month so I get to have fun going sideways regularly.

Porsche-poor 10-12-2011 08:35 AM

The rain has hit here so its hit and miss but I can often get out and drive between showers. We only have a few months that one has to worry about sand and salt.

livi 10-12-2011 09:14 AM

Yes. Winter in Sweden is a real drag on all accounts. That much better when spring arrives however.

Porsche-poor 10-12-2011 09:22 AM

Well where I live here in the Seattle Tacoma area they live in fear of snow. It basically shuts the place down. I grew up in Bend OR so snow is not that big a deal but around here there are always a lot of fools on the road.

If you can't figure out ow use the remote, you don't get to pick the channel.

And I am not going to stop doing what I am doing to change the channel for your lazy brained freakin a$$.

Porsche-poor 10-12-2011 09:34 AM

I like that rule. So the trick is to buy the most complicated remote and hide the manual after reading it!

Flieger 10-12-2011 09:42 AM

Dang, I missed the first pic. :(

Oh well, I will have lots of great pics of a different nature after this weekend. :)

That is one of the great things about California. You can drive a car with semi-slick tires, no windows, no heat, and no air conditioning and only miss about 4 days of driving per year due to rain. If you have windows and rain tires you can drive year-round. :)

Noah930 10-12-2011 09:56 AM

You go to college in California. What do you need these internet pics for? Just go walk around campus.

porsche4life 10-12-2011 09:58 AM

No kidding. They cull girls out there that we would fight over here.

Flieger 10-12-2011 10:04 AM

Yeah, but classes were still going on a few minutes ago. Everyone in class still. We get from the top of the hour to 10 minutes after to change classes and it does make for an interesting ride around campus at those times. Especially on the days with the nicest weather. :)

Noah930 10-12-2011 10:08 AM

Christ, Sid. To hang out at lunch time in the main dining area at USC during a nice sunny day... You'd probably best bring along some SL NTG, even at your young age. The shock might otherwise kill you.

Flieger 10-12-2011 10:15 AM

The few hotter ones I have talked to left me rather unimpressed though. We'll just say they would not understand a word I would say. Seems like all the good ones went to Agriculture, Business, or Liberal Arts unfortunately.

Flieger 10-12-2011 10:22 AM

It is funny, too. The so called "music" that people listen to here. Between that and the engineering it is like I am living in a different world.

GH85Carrera 10-12-2011 10:33 AM

Engineers do live in another world!
