Wee.. It rained today. I rear ended someone. Not bad, no injuries, except for my Toyota. The Pathfinder looked fine, short of the plastic bumper pushed in. If I fix the Toyota, I need a new headlight assembly for the left, a new fender and hood.

Chicken and herbed bread....

Icemaster 12-15-2011 07:49 PM

things got hinky, there, for a bit.

chicken: whole chicken, cut up. thick sliced bacon wrapped around pieces of chicken and secured with with toothpicks. place chicken on HOT!!! charcoal grill with some applewood for smoke, away from direct heat. pepper chicken liberally, then salt, then paprika. allow to bake in covered grill for about 80 minutes, or until done. grill should maintain ~300F - ~350F.

pull apart bread: i used the recipe in the better crocker cookbook for the pull apart cheese herb bread. BUT i added a little crushed garlic (sauteed for a minute in a small amount of olive oil) to the herb butter and a pinch of sage and some ground rosemary. right before baking, i also salted the top of the bread liberally. this was my first attempt at making proper bread (it has to rise, etc.) and it was easy and awesome.

if you need to entire recipe for the bread, let me know, photograph the page and post it.

there seems to be a lot of fender benders around here lately.

Icemaster 12-15-2011 08:13 PM

Awesome....thank you!

I think I know which book you're talking about, i believe I've got a copy I just need to go find. When I'm more awake I'll write up the recipe for roasted strip steak. Sear with salt and pepper, rub with rosemary, roast in butter. That's this years Christmas dinner.

Going to bed.

I got hooked on photography when I was 14. I was living in Hawaii and had a camera with a telephoto lens. Most of my pictures were the endless supply of girls in bikinis on the beach. I never asked permission and missed a lot of their faces and focused on other body parts.

Hey I was 14! ;)

nynor 12-15-2011 08:18 PM

roasted strip steak, that sounds good!

as for the chicken, it is, more or less, baked. so, popping it in the oven is going to work as well. the apple-wood smoke does add to the flavor.

My poor car. Why does this stuff happen to me?!? Not just cars, but life. Every time life starts looking up, something kicks me right back to the curb. I'm getting really tired of this. It's actually more of a monetary thing. There goes the ski season - again.
