shower drain : done.

not pretty, but it works.
Since i'm routing the drain of the shower on upper floor, to area where there's now a bath tub... i had to fab something up so the shower now drains into the bathtub... I'll redo that last bit once the shower is finished, and the tub is removed.

Next, brick up the shower tub, tile it, finish the roof, take my first shower and hope my kitchen doesn't flood (it's under the room where the shower is )

Long ago we hired a lady that grew up in a strict Nazerene family. She had NEVER been allowed to dance. She had never been to a movie.

I can imagine there are strict family's and communities.
But i can't imagine that there would be a law against dancing. That's just beyond my comprehension.

What do they do when they catch somebody dancing? fine?
repeat offenders? jail?
how do they legally define "dancing"

"Aah, yes your Honour, i saw the defendant in his house, and i distinctly saw him tapping with his right foot, to the tune of Frank Sinatra.. It was horrible, i'm still in shock to this day"

I know in Holland, up north they have a couple of areas where they have strict reformist towns... Where they don't allow stores to be open on sunday. The entire town goes to bible class several evenings a week.. several church visits a week...the works.
Where they are so strict and centered around the church, that the only TV in town, is the one owned by the preacher
(because he has to watch TV so he knows what to complain about on TV, and what TV networks to spam with angry "this is filth" letters...

And you can buy a house and move there, but most that do , regret it, because if they see them move in with a TV, and don't show up at church,
they are basically frowned upon vigorously by everybody in town.. I mean they will frown 24/7, even in their sleep, even when it means they get facial cramps...and wrinkles.

Imagine me moving there... They would need to frown like they never frowned before...

Well that was fun, on my way back home the left front speaker in the truck shorted out against the door. I simply love re-wiring things that I should have done in the first place instead of using the factory harness

There is a town totally surrounded by the metro OKC area called Bethany. It is the home of Bethany Nazarene College. Until the late 70s there was no store in town that sold cigarettes. They did not get a liquor store until the late 90s. Only tax dollars convinced them to allow the sale of booze and cigarettes. Folks could drive just a couple of miles and get what they wanted. When 98% of the population is in the same church they pass the laws the way they want.

Dancing in ones own home was never illegal, just public dancing. A school dance was just not going to happen. If a boy and a girl danced in public the entire town might be dammed to hell. It is crazy but no more than most other religions. I don't want this thread moved to PARF so I stop at that.

G'day lads! I'm back. tired in several different ways. nice trip, really.

and the wife knows, she thinks it's actually "our" 930. just don't tell her!

she's been talking about even driving it and I'm like "hm, I dunno about that..."

We actually stumbled across a 911 parked in the street in Bergen. first time I've seen one live since I started this whole project. kinda cool. it was badged "Carrera" on the decklid - does that make it a mid 80's? it was definitely of that era, not the 993 or whatever came after 89. surprised me how small it was.

pics tomorrow. off to bed.

Hey Jeff, yes they are actually that small. And I am 6-4. I had to move the steering wheel and lower the seats.

It's complicated.

But in a nutshell, things aren't progressing.

The good news is they aren't regressing.

Just bought the acre on the east side of my property today. I don't have to worry about someone building next to me now.Why is it that people will build as close as they can to their neighbors ? I'll have the parts tomorrow to finish Cristine's motor, going to be a good week, and I'll be 58 on the 6th.

Are you in town or on the outskirts? Surprised you have any money left for parts after buying land in Taos ....

bonjour Stijn and the rest of you.

-5C this morning. it's starting to look like winter here but not much snow yet. Had to get up and get the fire going so the missus won't freeze when she gets up.

waiting for the word on the house we put an offer in on up in Sweden. we're hoping to be in for christmas so the agent better get his finger out!
