Get me a pic of the part you need.

No more mosquito killing going on. TRE replaced a bunch of tubes/seals/gaskets, and it's good to go. They also replaced the clutch while the motor was out. So I'm good for a bit. I should start planning the rebuild and collect parts, now.

Alarick was very gracious about the ticket. It wouldn't have mattered if it went the other way. I was the one that was pulled over. Alarick had nothing to do with it.

If its the same as a 944 mirror, I've got a whole mirror assembly, we bought a parts 944, about two weeks after we had rounded up two mirrors on evilbay for new glass. I've got 4 mirrors sans glass....

Fun thing about wrecked parts chassis, you don't have to be careful with them....

Helps to have some equipment to drag them around with....

This is the broken part. The metal clip circled. You can see the blue locktite still on the threads of the set screw. This is the driver's side mirror. Arrow points to the front of the car.

Just had a look at Fat Tire. Interesting, never seen it before. Picked up some Big Helga (no, not a backpacker) today - giving it a go.

No, I talked with the shop manager and we decided not to do it. I don't exactly want to know what the numbers are. The motor doesn't burn any oil (it just was leaking out). The car had just passed smog easily. I've tried a couple other diagnostic driving tricks told to me by Porsche old-timers (the kind that have likely forgotten more than most of us will ever learn). The motor seems decently healthy.

I'll do the full-on rebuild at some time in the future. I just need to save up a bit so that it gets done with the proper mods, and not in piecemeal fashion.

Plus, I took a friend's 993 turbo out for a spin and that car's been on my mind since then.... (Is there a drooling smilie?) He wants to sell it at some time. 27K miles. Pulls like a train. Little lag. And as easy to drive as my Honda Civic.

Dave, gracious as always. You're a good friend.

Let me know if you're interested in coming over for the Patriot's game tomorrow. My in-laws are in town, and my father-in-law is obviously a Pats fan. My parents and sister are coming over, too. The more the merrier. Game starts around 5. Don't know what the menu will be, yet.

993 turbo is a girls car.
400 hp in your 930 and you will love it.

I live in LA. Pretty much all Porsches are considered girls' cars. Of course, when I made a left turn yesterday coming home, I didn't mind when the first car stopped in cross-traffic was a 997 driven by a hot blonde who clearly checked out the 930 popping and snarling (love that turbo burble) in front of her.
