Na, managed to escape before the fun started.
Was at JCU for GW1. That was interesting enough.

Great story Azzy, I also have an all original car, completely down to the 30 year old shiny factory paint, and she also has a few dings and chips but I am not going to repaint her. Those battle scars and road rash were earned. As earned as a garage queen can be. Mine is pampered but when I drive her (like today) she gets driven very hard so she has earned every little imperfection.
The little 356 is a beauty, I would love to have one in my stable but they are scarce as hens teeth and I am broke. Makes it kinda hard.

Outback Porsche 02-03-2012 02:05 AM

Miss Daisy's sweet Azza.

azzarule 02-03-2012 02:07 AM

Miss Daisy

Rick, well now I'm broke as well!

Yeah sometimes I like to go down into the garage and just sit inside and take my imagination for a ride, I think she should run just fine when I can get her going. But for now, she just continues to sit, she is almost as old as me lol

azzarule 02-03-2012 02:11 AM

Thanks Jeff

Yep she's not bad for a 51 year old, bit like myself ageing gracefully,

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/grin.gif

she has 35K on the clock so until I get her books, (which are hiding somewhere in the old gents shed) I don't know if it is 135 235 335 or whatever, but I suspect that it is probably 135 given she didn't go anywhere for 30 years, and she only ran around Canberra most of her life.

It is a requirement that when you take your imaginary ride that you make Varoom Varoom noises. Markus started that a few years ago during one particularity long winter and it stuck. :)

azzarule 02-03-2012 02:20 AM

Varoom Varoom

Oh yeah Rick, the kids will think I am definitely losing it then, they will take my non existent key off me!! They are already fighting over who will get Miss Daisy or the '72 when we die! If I sit there making weird noises they will put me away and not have to wait until I'm dead

Outback Porsche 02-03-2012 02:20 AM

Okay.....I've got permission to introduce my bride of 25 years :)

Hi Sharyn, and to both of you where is the grey hair, am I the only one around here who is going "blonde' (read grey) around here?

My daughter keeps reminding me that she'll be choosing my nursing home, so should be nice to her. Isn't a dads duty to tease their offspring?
