Well Dave can say I told you so!!! Been sanding the fret board for 2 hours. about half way done. He said it was hard wood (rose wood) but he failed to mention the fact the stuff will morph to rock when next to sandpaper.

Im still wickedly pissed about the cigar lounge..... .

Had a very interesting chat with one of my former employees today. The catholic church is so retarded it's almost comical... .

If the cigar lounge closes it sounds like the perfect time to open a new one on your own. Wait for the place to close and contact the landlord and rent the same building and start from scratch. With no competition around you should be set.

I thought of that. . .im just not quite to financial spot where I want to be yet, I was planning to buy in around january 2013. To act now I would need to get a small business loan or find a partner that can back it financially.

vas930 02-07-2012 01:17 PM

Thanks, Glen.
Still doing the math.
I will only do the 5 as per the factory, and that is $$$.
I will not use one of the short BH G50s.

The 4 speed with short 2nd 3rd and 4th is an option.
However, at 8k may be a waste of money.
Should put that money toward the 5 speed and add value to the car.
I will make up my mind over the next week.
I also have my eye on a rare 964 3.6L Turbo to add to the 930.

Get the SBA loan and open up as soon as possible after the old place closes. Don't wait for someone else to open one. The SBA loan will force you to really put a pencil to the numbers and see for sure that it can be a money making business. I bet most of the cost is getting the business license, liquor license and the other licenses.

porsche4life 02-07-2012 01:29 PM

Most of your costs better be in securing plenty of inventory, and damned good employees. All the rest is for naught if you don't have those two squared away...

The numbers can be daunting, but run them all, and get help if you need it. Make sure you have enough capital to cover operating losses for several months or years as well. You WON'T be profitable at first, I guarantee it.

GH85Carrera 02-07-2012 01:35 PM

Especially if he smokes up all the inventory!

porsche4life 02-07-2012 01:36 PM

Yes, that needs to be taken into account too....

RKDinOKC 02-07-2012 01:46 PM

Just claim on insurance you lost your inventory to fire. A series of very small fires.

GH85Carrera 02-07-2012 02:13 PM

Then you go to jail for arson!
