You need to put in more than 50%.

Elaborate. Money? Time? Effort?
I bring to the table some funds, extensive physical and online retail and marketing experience and a familiarity with all of the product reps. Also more than willing to staff the shop myself 60+hrs per week.

All of the necessary licensing is fairly quick and painless.....also if I took over the location, I believe the licensing would transfer. The shop is currently making decent money, the other partners are just bleeding it to keep other ventures afloat, thus not allowing anything to be re-invested for interior upgrades and proper marketing. They have almost no social media presence and no website currently...

a little hair of the dog, here. i had forgotten what a hangover is.

rick, that finger looks mighty unhappy.

joe, i've always wanted to work/own a bar. i don't know mixed drinks very well, but i know a little bit about beer.

Outback Porsche 02-07-2012 03:48 PM

Nasty finger Rick.

Kudos to you. I haven't picked up my guitar of about 18 months. When the motivation finally arrives my fingers are going to bleed....maybe thats why I'm stalling.

Money!
You should have over 50% of the cash in it.
Its the only way to have credibility.
It shows that you will do what it takes.
Good luck with it.

I shut down my biz. There is no way to get away from it and I need "away from work time"

vas930 02-07-2012 03:52 PM

Howdy, Jeff.

D, how did the mushies taste ?
Man they looked good.
How do you like to cook them?

No mixed drinks because of stupid smoking laws. Can't serve liquor without serving food, can't serve food and smoke inside. Beer and wine are a separate permit though so they're good to go.....its a very low key and casual atmosphere.....think cheers without liquor and for the slightly more affluent.

Vas 60k is full turn around cost......inventory, fixtures everything......I could swing half but I would be way to nervous about it. Things are still on track ti swing the full amount by this time next year.

I actually have a potential partner lined up who is willing to swing the full 60.......once he sells a piece of property......that's the problem, he's having a tough time unloading.....
there are also some other issues with him that make me nervous....if he comes up with the cash soon, I'll probably do it, but id prefer to find someone else...

I start my new posi at work on monday.
After constantly rejecting the idea of full time, they have me the same two days a week looking arter builing and storage at our depot.
I can do some of this work from home. :)

Beautiful day in paradise?

If you are nevous, why would you ask someone to put in cash ?
If he is putting in all the cash, its his show, not yours.

Yep!
And I have five days a week to enjoy it.
Having the car out of action is the only down side.
I will get it sorted over the next few weeks. :)

I would be nervous because that would put my savings in a spot I don't like seeing....
it'd be his show if he knew the market, knew the reps, was willing to work full time and could handle the financial paperwork.....therein lies the problem....last time he handled financials for a company it resulted ominous a federal investigation.

Outback Porsche 02-07-2012 04:15 PM

Good. Keep it that way please.

I'll be coming down again in a few weeks.

Got a family reunion thing in peterborough.

I hear the new laws require them to use a lube when opting for the anal probing microscopes

they were great! i have some left, i am cooking them tonight. i have some new ones on the way. i think i have the new technique down.

these particular mushrooms need to be sliced really thin, they are quite hearty and meaty. then, i sautee them in a little butter/olive oil with a smidgen of salt and a pinch of crushed rosemary. i cook them until they start to get a bit golden. they do not become mushy or spongy at all. they are very firm, even when cooked. they have a bit of a nutty taste. they also do not lose volume when cooked, so a couple of big ones is all it takes.

hehehehe :D:D:D

So you are going into it with this dude.
He is putting in all the cash, and you think you will have some control.
+ be open to the law.
Not sure this is a good idea, Joe.
It sounds a bit like the red head, in a work way.
Anyhow, be sure to post updates of the future drama.
Why not get the red head to work with you?
If you do, please film the whole thing. :D

Rick V 02-07-2012 04:33 PM

Sounds good, D.
