We got shut down on our job for the day. One of the concrete crew took out a guywire on a power pole right next to our location. Transformer boom is really loud when you are working 20ft from it. Now the power company is all over our piers....

GH85Carrera 02-21-2012 12:13 PM

Piers, ar you building a dock at the lake? ;)

HHI944 02-21-2012 12:17 PM

I friggin love this car.....
just checking in.....

porsche4life 02-21-2012 12:17 PM

Nope... Two 30" holes 6' deep. Were planning on pouring concrete and standing the sign this afternoon, but the power company is in our way, and the concrete plant is on the power line that was knocked out, so we can't get concrete today.

GH85Carrera 02-21-2012 12:18 PM

There was a transformer right outside of my office window (back when I worked in a building with windows) that was hit by lighting. I just happened to be looking out the window at the thunderstorm when it was hit. The flash of lighting was bright and the pretty blue and green colors the transformer made were cool. Then the electricity went out for some reason. All the smoke and pretty colors leaked out.

A sign with more than one post has piers.

And this job is probably in Miami OK or Idabel right?

porsche4life 02-21-2012 12:28 PM

Nope thankfully it's right here in Clinton.

GH85Carrera 02-21-2012 12:34 PM

We just got our camera back from the scheduled service. We loaded that 200 lb lens in the airplane and put the 150 lb drive unit on it, loaded up the two 25 lb film magazines and or pilot flew to 100 miles to fly a big project. The camera would not fire. He had to come back and after several hours on the phone we gave up. We missed a perfect day of flying. Then on Monday in the crappy weather he flew down to Louisiana to get the other camera. We have to figure out if it is the lens or the drive unit that is not working. Then we ship it back for repair, and get the other camera back so they can fly some projects. It cost a ton to ship that lens and drive unit back to have it worked on and they charge a ton to work on it.

The joys of a business.

At least it's not your money.

That is almost cheating. You need to make that beautiful drive to Boise City again. The only city in Oklahoma that was bombed during WWII. Fortunately there is nothing much to damage.

We don't do work in Boise city. No interstate highways out there. My dads family is from out there, and we've been once, and my grandma still owns land out there too, but it's just not worth the drive.

Oh chit, can you imagine what that crew must ave been going through when they went back to base, knowing they just bombed an American town?!?! Amazing story.

Not true, Glen.
They must be locked up at home and its not easy to get a gun licence.
Guns are not part of the general population.

I was curious so I looked it up on Google. Boise City is 331 miles from OKC if I stay in Oklahoma all the way. The panhandle is SOOOOO barren and boring. Miles and miles of nothing but miles and miles. Anytime I hear of someone that thinks the 55 MPH limit was a smart idea I want to take them to Woodward OK and have them drive to Springer New Mexico. That is 330 miles of of nothing.

They're not all Rick's. His dad brought his guns too.
The Uzi was surprisingly easy to aim and shoot.

True, half the handguns are dads,(including the Uzi) all the long guns are mine and I have a pile more I don't have pictures of.
