Vroooom! Purrrr!

GH85Carrera 02-25-2012 02:35 PM

Some of those girls might scratch my car's paint. I would never allow it. For sure my wife will not allow it.

Yea, she might leave a dent!

At least her clothes will not scratch the paint.

Her shoes might with that position!

Dave, years ago I got a new computer that was just fine except the cooling fan sounded like it was in turbo mode. It was screaming. I called tech support and they started with the stupid list. They wanted me to unplug the speakers! I told them it was not the speakers it was the fan and the problem was the motherboard. Since it was brand new they sent over a technician. He got the same tech support BS but he had to disable the speakers, and waste 30 minutes. I was laughing at the stupidity. He finally got it bumped up to a level to get a new motherboard shipped in. They wasted a ton of time and money.

There was an email waiting for me from Viewsonic this morning.

Excerpt:
"I understand your ViewSonic unit still has the issues after doing all the troubleshooting procedure. I will be glad to assist you with your concern.

It is determined that your unit needs to be repaired."

Are they outsourcing the form letters too? :D At least I get to move forward and get this thing shipped off.

HHI944 02-25-2012 03:19 PM

Your unit needs to be repaired?!?!?

GH85Carrera 02-25-2012 03:20 PM

It would be interesting to sit in on a meeting where the company managers decide how to make tech support so stupid.

GH85Carrera 02-25-2012 03:21 PM

Not THAT unit I hope

I tried plugging my unit into several outlets, but it would not turn on.

I guess I was lucky with ViewSonic. We have some old CRT units at work that are 7 years old and perfect. I just wish we could buy more of them. CRTs are gone gone gone.

When it comes to high resolution and high referesh rate the flat panels just can't do it.

To see a display in 3D with no flicker (wearing glasses) still takes a CRT. High end PhotoShop pros still like CRTs.

I have a CRT as well that I use on the bench. It's great to use as a heater in the Winter and its great at taking up a huge amount of space. But it works.

At least it didn't catch fire!

My hair is a little straighter and I have a strange tingly sensation in my unit.
