I guess that would and did work to perfection.

Where and when I went to college they paid for blood.

Rick V 03-18-2012 05:12 AM

Hahahahahahaha

svandamme 03-18-2012 05:20 AM

in the EU it's illegal to pay for blood or organs donations.
The thought being, if any kind of pay is involved, it might cause abuse.

And in fact it does, they had a rule where civil servants got a day off if they went for blood donation. As it turns out a bunch of them lied on the form on certain medical parameters that would other wise have excluded them from donating.. they lied to make sure they got that day off anyway.

I just go because i have high lipids and whatnot , i'm not running a particularly lean mixture.
Guess i'm running MFI internally...

They were only concerned with how often you showed up to sell blood. Some students I knew depended on their blood to pay bills.

After college I started giving blood at the local blood bank. All you got was some orange juice and a cookie. I quit the second time the "nurses" couldn't hit a vein after the 2nd try.

Okay I am living Caddyshack. I thought my excessive mothball barrage had run off the chipmunks, but all it did was to force them to make a new door. It's war!!! I am debating letting VooDoo become an outdoor kitty. Mwuhahahahaha 27lbs of dumbass killing machine.

Carefull, once they get a taste for the outside freedom.. They will nag relentless to be allowed outside..
Bubba was indoors, but once he got out, man, he goes nuts if the catflap is closed.. Just the idea that it's closed is enough. It's not that he spends so much time outside.. Hell no..

I have been a regular blood donor since I was 18. I have donated something like 8 gallons total. All just donations, all I ever got was a t-shirt, cookies and soda. Well sometimes instead of a shirt I got a ice scraper or some gloves.

Just finished watching F1. We always DVR it. It is great to fast forward through the commercials, and the national anthems and champagne squirting. We just watch the race & the interview at the end. Screw the advertisers.

GH85Carrera 03-18-2012 08:49 AM

I do DVR the practice and the qualifying as well. There is a lot of background to learn by watching that.

svandamme 03-18-2012 09:40 AM

I didn't end up donating today.. the bastards send me a text saying it's national open house day and come to the center an donate.
Except the place i go to every time, was closed, nobody there.

GH85Carrera 03-18-2012 09:52 AM

I went to donate last year once when they had been calling everyone because of a shortage. I had an appointment for 11:00 am. When I got there they said they were 2 hours behind because of volume and suggested I wait. I suggested that was not going to happen. I left and donated a week later with no wait.

I think i'll take another wednesday or thursday off, again great weather predicted.
And it breaks up the week nicely, do my house hold , and then be totally free for the weekend..
And i still have enough overtime so basically i keeps my holiday count up.

Okay got the head bolted back down on my sons project Volvo. Got a bunch of grass cut, and am now looking to relax for the duration. Gonna do research on chipmunk destruction. Now where did I put that claymore............

Hey all,

found a cave the other day that contained mega fauna fossils, pretty cool to look through.

Spent 7 hours on a wine tasting tour yesterday. Paced ourselves magnificently. Tasted many great wines, mostly reds as the region is famous for dry reds. Wallet took a beating ;) Gunna look around here a little more this morning and then head back towards the coast again.

GH85Carrera 03-18-2012 03:41 PM

Good afternoon folks. I got the yard mowed again. I guess I will be doing that every week for the next several months.

Outback Porsche 03-18-2012 03:42 PM

Time to hit the road again.
