i took my CFI FOI and regular CFI written in literally 15 minutes. when i called the proctor, he asked if the computer goofed up...i just said "no, im done." got a 100 on both. and im no scholar.

ATP was a different animal. but for Private, you can easily knock it out in a weekend.

I have the Gleim book and test program. I'm lame. I know. :D Thanks for another kick in the ass though. I do need it. :)

I'm on it. I do need to take care of my taxes, excuse or not. :D The 17th is closing quickly.

the online test prep is awesome. you can literally just click the questions until you memorize them. mega convenient

Welcome to the thread, Mike. Is this your first visit? We seem to have more followers of Stijn! every day.

Good night all.

Mike, I will be at the POC race at Willow on the 21 instead of the Festival of Speed.

Max, stop worrying about all this, all of a sudden. You live in a great town! I've told you before, get out and explore! Go to Farmer's Market! There are plenty o other places to go hang out as well. You never know, you may run into this chick from your class.

yes...good advice. you guys are lucky to live on the other side of the mountains. im stuck sitting outside at night, watching the stars and listening to the coyotes. lots of stuff and lots of girls in your neck of the woods. i usually work 6 days a week, and i work every weekend...so dating is non-existant. plus, you guys have green grass!

Love a good farmers market.

Mike, we should talk. I really want to get out in the dark, set up a camera, do some time lapse photography. I really don't like driving out to the desert by myself, even if armed. I grew up here. I ain't dumb. You can disappear out there.

Max is up in SLO town for college. Two college, small town at that.

Embraer 04-05-2012 12:36 AM

yes, we should. i am thinking about getting [I]back[I] into astronomy. i know some prime viewing locations out here. I just picked up a new Canon DSLR. Last summer, the stars made the night so bright, you could literally see almost like day out here. amazing.

slodave 04-05-2012 12:41 AM

I also want to do some general photography out there. Visit the "ghost" towns. Preferably when there is still a few snow drifts on the ground. We're coming up on a full moon. New moon is best for time lapse.

Embraer 04-05-2012 12:45 AM

im intimately familiar with all of the weird desert stuff out here. there's the ruins of a failed utopian society over by Llano. Also, there are a ton of movie sets out here. the church from kill bill is right by where i go spoon shooting at. 4 aces, ed's service station, etc.

i was the caretaker of a 400 acre movie ranch that went Tango Uniform last fall...hence my move back into Palmdale.

it didnt snow this year up here...only in the mountains. we had a crazy mild winter.

Take Rick with you. :(

slodave 04-05-2012 12:49 AM

I know about the Winter. :D It's not normal here either, nor in Mammoth. I'll pack my little long spoon.

Embraer 04-05-2012 12:50 AM

i usually carry my 20 ga when im out trolling around. pistol grip with a scabard. it's seriously like the wild west out here.

Even Rick could disappear out there alone. :D But he would be nice company to have.

slodave 04-05-2012 12:56 AM

I'm very comfortable with my .22 Lever. :) Load it right and I can get 17 off before having to reload.

vas930 04-05-2012 12:58 AM

Good, Dave take that with you.
I think Rick has a Tank in that truck of his, so take him also.

slodave 04-05-2012 12:58 AM

I've seen some of your pix, which intrigues me even more. :D Sunup.sundown shots are the best and on the right days, fantastic!
