Would it be legal for you to do away with the flash hider and use a brake instead? Oh and I have the bayonet that fits that gun. :)

Not sure that is a carbine Rick, it's full size , lenght and power...

sent em an email last night, asking what requirements and formalities i must meet..

The brake on my AR is birdcage style with the exception of the bottom opening is solid. It is a dual function.

I'll see how it kicks, but M14s are supposed to be very comfortable in that respect, and a brake just directs a lot of blast and noise backwards.. and to the sides.. a lot of shooters don't like it when there is somebody with a brake to the side of them.

Like I give a rats about the guy next to me. :)
