Bummer. Well good luck with the new one.

I just had a phone call from a company that will remain nameless. They want us to make them a 56x60 inch color print on quality photo style paper. No big deal for us we do it all the time. They almost fainted when I told them it would be $300 bucks. And that is only because they paid us already to fly the area. That is CHEAP for a print that is almost 24 square feet.

Ah well no one else will print them on for less.

My wife was taking care of some young guy yesterday. Somehow the issue of her age came up. She asked him how old he thought she was. He replied about 25-28. I think she was beaming as she told me the story.

Try that again.....

Your probably right Dave.

What I'm trying to do is internally noise limit my system. Hitting thermal is going to be a struggle ;)

Congrats on the job Tweeze

Hey tech heads, going from the Aus 240V power to the US 110v power, can I get converters to bring some of my electric stuff, you know the electric frypan, sewing machine, electric toothbrushes, coffee machine, electric kettle, stuff like that, I just don't think it is all that economical to leave all of that stuff here, and buy new over there, cause when I come home I just have to throw it away. Its different if anything dies whilst we are there, then I will have to replace it, but the cost of some of the stuff is just going to add up and be a huge bill. So if I could get some sort of step down converters that aren't too expensive I could bring my electrical items with me, but not the big TV you guys have a different system all together I understand, although do I have to bring an Aus TV to go with the Aus Xbox? questions questions,

Hi Azzy,
If it's got a label like this on it, it'll be okay, all you have to do is change the plug or get a plug adapter;

If the equipment has a clock in it, the clock will run slow as the frequency of the AC is 60Hz not 50Hz (Oz).
Stuff with heating elements will not get to their normal operating temps (unless you use a step up transformer - like the one Jim found).
TV's, New ones often have the ability to change (or auto detect) the different signals. You need to have one that can receive NTSC (Never The Same Color :D) as well a PAL (Oz).
Xbox - not sure about. I think it's output is composite video. If it is it'll probably be okay. Xbox 360 output is HDMI, so it'll work okay if it'll handle multi-voltage (re that label again).

what you don't drive the Porsche to the event?

porsche4life 04-20-2012 07:43 PM

Hour and a half drive, taking slicks with us, and dad doesn't like crawling in and out of the Porsche.... Plus the pickup runs on 1.11 gal fuel.... It's cheaper...

Porsche-poor 04-20-2012 07:44 PM

Good points. Have fun.

porsche4life 04-20-2012 07:50 PM

Plus it sucks when you break down, and are an hour away from home and your car trailer... Having the trailer there ensures that we make it home... :D

HHI944 04-20-2012 07:54 PM

There's a fairly cheap conversion kit for the Landy to run cng ............just nowhere here sells cng.

Outback Porsche 04-20-2012 07:55 PM

Have fun Sid. Good luck.

porsche4life 04-20-2012 07:59 PM

CNG stations all over OK... Check out CNGnow to find fueling stations, conversions really don't make sense though, gotta buy a truck already converted.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes guys. For now the only plan is to go autocross in the AM.....

Flieger 04-20-2012 08:04 PM

Congrats on the job, Tweeze.

GH85Carrera 04-20-2012 08:04 PM

I will see ya bright and early tomorrow morning. It has been a long spell of no autocross. It was January since I last autocrossed.
