Know what about me?

Flieger 04-25-2012 10:42 PM

I haven't mentioned riding a bike again to my Dad. So I will just go out and do it when I am not a full time student anymore and when I have the means ($).

Noah930 04-25-2012 10:45 PM

The eye thing. Didn't know about the eye thing.

Noah930 04-25-2012 10:46 PM

That's the reason I bought a bike. As a student with no job, I couldn't afford a car, let alone a fast one. But I could afford a motorbike. When you're a beginner, anything that gets you moving faster than you can pedal a bicycle is fast and thrilling. Still is.

Flieger 04-25-2012 10:48 PM

Yeah, I am lucky to have the BMW to drive. It has windows and a stereo and everything! :) Nice big trunk to haul stuff, too.

It has served me well since high school. Driving 20 miles each way to Encino. Now going to and from San Luis Obispo every few weeks. And even to Laguna Seca twice and Willow Springs once.

Noah930 04-25-2012 10:54 PM

If I had a car in college, I probably would never have looked at bikes.

Course, now that I've been indoctrinated, I realize that part of my personality is that of a motorcyclist. Being out in the elements, dealing with the lack of creature comforts, yet enjoying every minute of it nonetheless. Driving a 911 at speed is fun. Riding a sportbike is like being strapped to the front bumper of a 911 that's being driven at speed.

Flieger 04-25-2012 10:58 PM

Oh, no doubt. For the most part I love the feel of speed and being in the open air on my bike. But there are times when I want some protection from the elements. And hauling groceries or my stuff is a lot easier in a car.

Noah930 04-25-2012 10:59 PM

Groceries, meet panniers. Or a tail trunk.

Though take-out usually doesn't fare well no matter how you package it up.

Almost looks like a "Hey, I think we left a passenger behind, I think we should go back".

"Okay, well, naw we're so far out lets just keep going".

"I really don't think that's a good idea, turning back".

As they get close to LAX

"You know what? Eff the passenger".

"Lets just land before we get in trouble".

Noah930 04-25-2012 11:21 PM

I thought it looked like a submarine. Or a whale.

slodave 04-25-2012 11:22 PM

Beached whale?

Embraer 04-25-2012 11:27 PM

those two turns on the east side...that was before his engine was toast. i was turning him so he could climb to avoid clouds. once he got to altitude, he ran into his bigger issues...

svandamme 04-26-2012 12:13 AM

Do you have one from when Mav was in that inverted dive with that mig?

slodave 04-26-2012 12:17 AM

Hehe. I'm watching Top Gun right now. :)

svandamme 04-26-2012 12:22 AM

Well you need all the prep you can get, and you might as well use the best material available!
Have you figured out where Penny Benjamin lives these days?

slodave 04-26-2012 12:27 AM

I know nothing about the admiral's daughter! :D

RKDinOKC 04-26-2012 12:49 AM

When I started college I had 4 cars. Had only a ten speed bicycle when graduated.

After started working and had a car, got a street bike, it was fun. Then got a dirt bike, it was fun too. Then broke leg riding dirt bike. Decided I did not have the mad skills necessary to ride bikes and stay out of hospital and sold both.
