I've read all of them.... There are only a few scenes, the rest isn't as bad as Chris is making it out to be.... I don't get excited about stuff like that, it's all fiction...

I find it hard to read books in general, as they put me to sleep in a couple pages. Even when I am interested in the subject. For some reason reading my online copy of Racecar Engineering does not do that. Maybe I am just reading in too comfortable a chair.

Friend had a NSX with super low miles, it was black. He almost never drove it because he wanted to keep the miles down for resale, and was afraid to get it dirty for the same reason. When it came down to selling it he was very sorry because it only made $800 difference in the value.

Had that no fiction attitude about reading in 1st grade. When ask to read out loud in class, read the first line, then started making up my own story instead of going to the next line. My stories were a lot more interesting and entertaining. The teacher never stopped me, but at the end of the year I was put in a summer reading program. They were very surprised to find I could read just fine, but only read what I was interested in. Also refused to watch Lassie because someone was always getting in trouble.

Only read one fiction book that I absolutely didn't like. It's was by Dean Koontz and I did NOT like it not because of the graphic violence, etc. it was that the bad guy got away at the end without ANY sort of punishment. And the "A word from the author" bit at the end that told why he let the bad guy off didn't help.

It is not that I think fiction is worthless. I used to love reading science fiction classics like from Jules Verne but it is just that I have lots of other important stuff to do and when I get free time I have other things I want to do more than read fiction. It just does not feel productive, which bothers me.

One thing about reading, it exposes you to new words. It is productive. That said, I don't read books very often anymore, though I did. I do read a lot on the Internet and feel some satisfaction from that, as the authors of news articles and what not, all use different words and although not as frequently, new words are presented.

Some dipwad just tried to shine a green laser in my eyes. I see this green thing "floating/dancing" in front of my car. WTF?? OH! I passed the source and they tried to hit my rear view mirror, but I know what a laser is! I put my arm up to block my mirror. I could see they were trying.

Good morning folks.

Back to the subject of reading. When I was in high school I read over 100 books of fiction, mostly science fiction, on my own each year. I always loved to read, even in grade school. Since we moved to a new school every year I had a different school library to peruse. I remember the library at school in the 5th grade was pitiful for science fiction. I had read every book there and was just looking for anything else. The librarian there recommend a book called "The boy that batted 1000" about some kid that never missed the ball. It was soooooooo stupid I could not finish it. Fortunately I discovered the base library was wonderful!

It has been a while since I sat down and read a novel. I just have better ways to entertain myself. I can always find a project in my garage to tinker on my cars.

My wife just loves her iPad for books. The OKC metro library system has ebooks she can check out and they are free. She has read a bunch of them. It does not matter how big the book is, it still does not weigh anything as just electrons.

Been entertaining the idea of getting an iPad just to kick start reading more.

I think that iPad I bought for my wife has been the most used present I ever got her. It is in her hands almost all the time when she is home. If she is not reading a book or email or surfing the web she is playing a game.

That's kinda what I am afraid of, becoming an iPotato. Especially with Angry Birds in Space out.
