Solidworks is killer if you manufacture something not in my line of work. We mostly do one off machine fixing or other E&I stuff.

Rick V 05-17-2012 04:12 AM

There was a report on the news last night that claimed coffee drinkers out live non coffee drinkers.

Jim Richards 05-17-2012 04:52 AM

Naturally!

Happy Bondo Anniversary, Rick & Beth! :D

Morning, Jeff!

Rick V 05-17-2012 04:55 AM

Well just because I had no idea I looked up a traditional gift for 26 and there isn't one, so I declare 26 to be Bondo, although I really prefer MarGlass

GH85Carrera 05-17-2012 05:20 AM

Rick, you can alway go old school and use lead!

Happy anniversary.

Good morning folks.

Rick V 05-17-2012 05:35 AM

I do use lead but not on "composite material" I call it that because anything that cost as much as this stuff does can't be plastic.
When I had the left rocker on Peggy replaced I leaded the joint in the back where we butt welded it together. I like lead, it reminds me of those nummy paint chips from my childhood. I preferred the beige ones.

Porsche-poor 05-17-2012 06:35 AM

Happy aniv to Rick and his bettter half.

Off to start the day.

I have to admit the problem I was having with AutoCAD text was not actually an AutoCAD problem. The program I use for the map layout is ArcMap. I just import the customer's DWG file and it lays on top of our image. All the text except for one area was fine. Just three lines of text. I opened AutoCAD and copy and pasted some other text as a test and the new text shows up. OK, cool. I then edit the text to say what the client wants and it vanishes! The text deals with Stressed Vegetation. I can type in a string of profanity about how stressed I am about invisible text and it shows up. The text the customer wants just vanishes.

I finally gave up and put the text in with the ArcMap but now I have to have notes to myself for the next time we update it that that line of text is not part of the customer file.

Computers are FUN!

Happy Anniversary Rick and Beth. :)

(Now I am not on post 13,313 anymore. Something seemed spooky about that number).

Porsche-poor 05-17-2012 09:32 AM

Glen if I pm you my email can you send me just the test so I can see how it was made?

Flieger 05-17-2012 10:14 AM

LOL. The girl replied to a message I sent her on facebook. I asked her about what she liked to paint (she mentioned she liked to on the hike) and said that we should hike the full trail we were on that day sometime.

She either is trying to tell me to get lost in a nice way or else she is as good at making excuses as I am. She says she is really busy heading into finals week and yet her and my friend were talking about how little the professor in one class actually teaches them (he is know to be a really easy prof.). I don't know what else she has going on, though.

This looks like so much fun! :)

I have both of my computers tied up churning on projects. I had to check the thread on my phone. I have to give each computer a command every few minutes. I need faster computers!
