Sid, didn't you hear? All participants get a free set of Hoosiers at this event! Man you keep missing the good stuff.

Thanks for the offer. I have been playing with computers since my 4.77 MhZ PC running DOS 2.1. I still have those 5.25 inch floppy install disks. ;)

It is amazing how fast we can spend money. We bought 10 gran worth of film and processing last month for one job. It is a real big job and when we get paid for it we need to rat hole away 35K just for the next engine on the airplane. It will be TBO by the end of next year if not sooner. Our engines are always in top shape but no mechanic will sign the log book on an engine past what the FAA mandates is a worn out engine. 35K or so later and we are back in the air.

I will for sure keep you in mind if we get the go ahead for new computers. In the mean time I will just watch the hourglass icon

sounds like we've been playing with computers for about the same amount of time. i taught myself basic with TI machine. our high school got some PC's like you describe about three years later. we used apple ]['s in the computer lab up till then.

for the record, i am not trying to sell anything. i would happily build you computers for cost, especially high end stuff. i no longer charge for computer service. ever.

Its Ok, glen. I'm getting paid to be up here... My first check should more than cover a set of Hoosiers... ;)

Got my phone setup on the exchange server today. It autosyncs my email and outlook calendar, as well as gives me the ability to lookup contacts on the company info system, which is great in a company of 3k+ employees....

Oh and I found out I will be spending a week in Florida in late june... Driving down there with another intern. 1500 miles one way....

All paid... :D

GH85Carrera 05-18-2012 08:01 PM

Thanks. I will for sure ask your advice when we get ready to buy something.

GH85Carrera 05-18-2012 08:04 PM

Do you have to drive to Florida in that same company car you have now? I long road trip can be an adventure.

GH85Carrera 05-18-2012 08:06 PM

Tomorrow morning I will have to get the 911 back on the ground, lug nuts torqued, car cleaned up before 10:00.

porsche4life 05-18-2012 08:09 PM

No it won't be this one, we will check out another.... Plus all company cars have 24hr roadside assistance, and we all carry a company amex.....

Porsche-poor 05-18-2012 08:56 PM

First half of the road trip done.......rest time.

porsche4life 05-18-2012 09:46 PM

RKDinOKC 05-18-2012 11:33 PM

Yep, I manage an Exchange server, and another mail server, zipbang.com that does the same as exchange that I charge $6/month for exchange functionality of all that syncing stuff.

Porsche-poor 05-18-2012 11:35 PM

shouldn't you be sleeping or getting rest so you can go drive the beast?

RKDinOKC 05-19-2012 12:04 AM

Rode the train from OKC to Gainesville tx. Was picked up in car and driven to Denton. Drove home from Denton. A Joy!

Next is to hook up SharkTuner and tweak it for the cams.

Morning Y'all.
Had a fun time last night doing the usual friday night "downtown". Summers here are fun.
Richard I am very happy to see you have your car back. Hopefully I will be on that list next week.

Jim Richards 05-19-2012 05:22 AM

Beautiful night, last night. We did a little star gazing. In the city, the most you can ever do is a little star gazing. :(

Good morning folks. My 911 is back on the ground. I just got back from a short test drive. The first time I hit the brakes it pulled real bad to the left. Then I remembered dripping some oil on the front right caliper when I disconnected the oil lines. Oil on brakes makes them not function properly. I had hit them with brake cleaner but I guess there was some residual oil. A few hard stops later and all is well.

Porsche-poor 05-19-2012 08:11 AM

Morning all. Nice day to be home but I'm not.

We cut it a lot at work. Lay down masking tape along the cut and use a table or Skilsaw with a finish blade.
