actually it's the opposite... with a handbrake near the stick shift, in the snow... you have left hand at the wheel, at all times, and you shift with the right... and occasionally yank the brake with the right hand ...

left hand handbrake, it's impossible to switch your hands fast... right hand off shifter, on steering wheel, left hand off steering wheel, on hand brake, and then the other way around... believe me , it's no good.

Might be you, those are pics of my old 944s, I can wheel it left hand brake. :) I gots mad skilz

svandamme 01-15-2010 10:52 AM

mad skillz stuck in 2nd gear doing 15 mph in the snow perhaps... i need my gear changes and i need em fast...I learned to do without the handbrake... you get the exact same effect by simply dropping down a gear, popping the clutch and engine braking...backend comes around... then floor it to keep the backend sideways... Also in my 944S

Hey Glen! wanna come help with that heatercore tonight? Looks easy peasy by that link....

Man that is just a 30 minute job. You don't need my help.

My MIL is coming down from Enid tonight so it is wild party Friday night at my house.

porsche4life 01-15-2010 12:26 PM

Sounds like you need an excuse to leave to me...

GH85Carrera 01-15-2010 12:33 PM

Nope, it is wild party time for Friday night. We will likely do laundry and watch some TV. Law & Order is on ya know!

porsche4life 01-15-2010 12:35 PM

Whoo boy... Sounds like one heck of a time...

nynor 01-15-2010 02:40 PM

hey, guys. just waking up. did i miss anything?

porsche4life 01-15-2010 03:55 PM

No... Are ya bored? I'm taking the dash out of the VW... Came in to find a diagram of where some of the bolts are....

nynor 01-15-2010 04:04 PM

almost time for work.

Rick V 01-15-2010 05:50 PM

Nice save. :)

porsche4life 01-15-2010 05:51 PM

Ya ya... none of you *******s wanna help.... Bye boys I'm off to the shop...

Rick V 01-15-2010 05:57 PM

Bwahahahahahaha, I know better. Remember, don't sell us old guys short, we know stuff.

porsche4life 01-15-2010 10:26 PM

Well guys its midnight I am throwing in the towel.... I got the entire dash out.... New heatercore in the little box... coolant vaccumed out of the carpet... Time to go back together...

Pulled a Rick and broke part of the heatercore when I got pissed off and just yanked real hard on it....

porsche4life 01-15-2010 11:57 PM

I think my chat with rico earlier brought me to my senses.... Or what seems sensible to me... Scary Huh rick?

Anyways.... here's what I am thinking when I sell the Corrado... While another 944 is tempting and Ricks old one is very tempting I think I will just continue driving my Parents Corolla... That is what mom would rather me do anyways... And take some of that money from the VW and finally do the suspension brakes and few other odds and ends on the 44.... Then saving the rest of the money and keep adding to it for when a started 914 track rat comes up for sale....

Rick V 01-16-2010 02:11 AM

okay that is the last time I give you any advice, frigging kids, they listen when you don't think they are. :)
