Praise God, the car works!:)
I got the controller programmed, the sides have matching settings, and the wheels both turn at the same time and in the same direction. I buttoned everything up and now it is ready for a test drive. Fck yeah!:D |

Rick, I hope the new job gets better for you. I guess it is the same job, different location. Good luck.

Nice job, Max.

I think I found places to stay in Frankfurt this Sept. There's a huge auto trade fair going on when I arrive and all hotels are booked solid. The whole point to land in Frankfurt is to spend a bit of time and have dinner with someone I knew from HS. Anyway, another old friend from summer camp threw up a link on FB to this site that coordinates renting out rooms/apts/houses, whatever. You basically rent the spare room of someone's place (or the entire place if they want). It's cheap! I put in a message to a guy that lives in DT Frankfurt. Hopefully he's spare room is available. If not, there's a number of other people there renting out rooms.

So I am not sure if the GFI was on the fritz or not. The wiring in the box (well, at least the grounds) were a little suspect, so it was nice to clean things up in there anyway. And we are making a new car for the next competition anyway so no need to worry about putting the GFI back in to this particular circuit.
The problem turns out to have been one of the emergency stop buttons. There is one located behind the brake pedal such that if the brakes fail the pedal hits the switch and shuts the car down. Our problem has been a long brake pedal (or a switch not placed in the correct place if you prefer) so the switch was tripping during hard braking. The team swapped the leads on the switch such that instead of the "go" position being fully rearwards, closest to the brake pedal, the "go" position is now in the "stop" position, as if the brake pedal had already hit it. They neglected to give me this helpful bit of information and I have been trying all this time to get power with the brake switch in the logical "on" position as if it were functioning as a brake overtravel switch. That is what I get for assuming the logical conclusion... |
Safety. It's a priority. Really; it is -- somewhere behind going to competition and going fast.

Morning, Rick.
How was the first day? |
Morning Dave
This place is just a fill in until I find a real job. I only took it because I need the cash flow. |
Work it, baby!
|
I am just very frustrated right now, it is amazing how many places will just sit on a job opening or wait for an employee to leave before making a decision. I still have a few things in the works
|
I hear that. :)
|
Morning again :-)
Hope the job thing works out for you Rick. Doesn't sound like fun. |
Again? How fast is a day "down under"? :D
|
Was only about 12hrs ago I said morning for the first time today ;-)
