If you come through OKC I would be happy to meet up with you.

Thanks Glen. It's likely that we'll go through OKC on our way West. I'll keep you all up to speed on our plans as we get closer to making the road trip next Spring. SmileWavy

Morning Y'all

Jim Richards 07-23-2012 03:19 PM

You're startin' to sound like a Southerner, Jeff!

Very very green text:
Yea Jim. The drive from OKC to Denver is such a scenic drive. Lots of huge trees and Fun curvy roads.
End very green text.

Jim Richards 07-23-2012 03:33 PM

LOL. Our route is dictated by seeing family along the way. So, it means driving scenic I-40 for a lot of the way. ;)

Back when I was in the RAAF, spent a couple of years in a little town called Woomera and worked at this place - Joint Defense Facility Nurrungar - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Effectively, I joined the USAF for a while - Learned me a bit of the lingo ;)

Rick V 07-23-2012 04:05 PM

Evening Y'all (and I sound like a southerner in person)
That didn't go over well today
No uniform service except for the office people
no rags
no repair orders
no order what so ever
I did manage to put 15 hours out the door today, not too bad for someone who has been off line work for a couple of years.
Someone shoot me please, I'll even supply the gun.

Outback Porsche 07-23-2012 04:12 PM

Morning Rick

You can come work on diesel Landcruisers out here ;)

Ya, keep us informed... I should be back in OK by the spring, and I live right along 40 about 90 miles west of OKC. I don't mind making the trip up either.... Or if you are out my way, I can take you to a real good BBQ place... ;)

Someone gonna pay the relocation fee?

Outback Porsche 07-23-2012 04:24 PM

Hmmm, your on your own there Rick

Rick V 07-23-2012 04:26 PM

Hmmm thanks fr the offer but I think I am going to have to decline at this time. :)

Outback Porsche 07-23-2012 04:33 PM

Fair enough, but you'd be giving up the opportunity to work in an un-airconditiond workshop with all that diesel. And don't forget the very very very friendly flies.

bummer.... i don't have the degree in occupational therapy.

edit: what i need to do is get a degree as a PA. then, i'd be a shoo-in to work there. i think. the rules and regs are odd.... there is no such thing in australia as a respiratory therapist.

Outback Porsche 07-23-2012 07:14 PM

I wouldn't let that stop you if you have the experience they are looking for.

We have a lot of skills shortages over here, you may get lucky and they just may not have any better candidates.
