I guess you are pretty much at the top of the food chain in AU. No bears or Mtn Lions or wolves to try to eat you. Just some dingos. I know you have a corner on the market for deadly snakes and spiders, but they are not trying to eat you even if they kill you by accident.

Your main lifeline is the vehicle, and the supplies you haul with you. On my most remote trip I was just a few hours away from civilization. 75 MPH on smooth asphalt will get you across some remote places quickly.

Awesome pics on FB, btw, Jeff. Looks like you are having a wonderful adventure!
Cheers Tweeze, got a lot more to put up. Haven't had the power to run the laptop for a week now (although I could run it from one of the car batteries but they are really for keeping the fridges cold). Will be posting up bigtime when I get home.

Have a fun trip with your Dad.

Just the Crocs will hunt you, otherwise the other deadly stuff is just bad juju. We've left croc country now - all good (was swimming with freshwater crocs a couple of days ago at Lawn Hill - them ones are relatively harmless).

Hallo! I've slept 2.5 hours in the last 25+ hours... Drinking beer and in iPhone SIM card hell at the moment. At the end of this day, I may have a nice iPhone brick. :D

Evening Y'all. Spectacular weather the last few days, upper 70's low humidity, makes me really like the Boxster

Rick V 09-11-2012 03:40 PM

I am good at zooberizing Iphones

GH85Carrera 09-11-2012 03:41 PM

Dave, So you got more sleep than normal?

GH85Carrera 09-11-2012 03:43 PM

I guess the new iPhone 5 comes out real soon!

slodave 09-11-2012 03:58 PM

Nope, even less! :D

Rick V 09-11-2012 04:00 PM

i am thinking that my HiPower should be good for about $700, locally. a brand new S&W M&P AR is about $620, locally. the guy at the gun store told me to keep the browning, LOL! but didn't want to give me an offer against the AR. :D

Rick V 09-11-2012 04:26 PM

You looking at a carbine or a full sized one?

slodave 09-11-2012 04:31 PM

Got my iPhone back, but everything is gone (but not lost - I hope). :D Trying one last time to get this German SIM card to work, then off to bed, wake up dizzy and on to Stuttgart.

meh..... an AR is what i am after. i think i'd prefer one with a 20" barrel, but i am not gonna be picky.

Rick V 09-11-2012 04:49 PM

I have a 14 inch barrel with the break makes it 15(something) aka carbine. Great for close quarter zombie action

Just make sure the barrel has H-Bar stamped in it

Porsche-poor 09-11-2012 04:57 PM

Yep I have an h-bar non delta. Love it!
