Nearly knock off here.

Love shorts weather - springs fantastic here. A few flies to annoy you. Lots of young backpacker girls in short skirts. All good really

Rain that hard that fast is only good for the ponds and reservoirs.

It rained all night last night. Our ponds & reserviours need a LOT more rain. I hope it does it every night for a week or more.

I am working on an image right now that is the standard scan. It is 19,678 x 19,046 pixels. It is a standard aerial negative on 9 inch film. We scan it at 12 microns or 2116 PPI. It is 1.06 GB. I am doing some standard Photoshop image color correction to make it look better. Right now the scratch disk size is 10.6 GB. I still am using my old computer because this image needs to be done this morning. I really can't wait to try this on the new system.

I double checked everything, and did the proverbial SMOKE TEST!

Good news, all the smoke stayed inside the wires and components.

I hit my first roadblock. Arrrggggg!

Went into BIOS and booted from the motherboard DVD to set things up. Right off the bat it asks me to insert the (expletives deleted) FLOPPY! Really in 2012 I need a 1980s technology to make my new state of the art computer set up. A floppy!

Why can't they figure out to make a USB drive work?

I have an old floppy drive on the shelf but the new motherboard does not have floppy drive connections. I have to get a USB based floppy? This is stupid. If a USB floppy will work why not a USB flash drive?

I will have to Google how to make a USB drive imitate a floppy drive. There must be a way. Of course all this setup stuff is done with a DOS driver so I may be out of luck and be forced to buy a USB floppy.

Freinds boss told him to only spend a couple hours a day on a specific job. He is now being accused of not spending enough time on that job.

Similar thing happened to me where I work. Graphic artist chick was claiming she was processing 15 to 20 photos a day. I was asked to help. I could only average 8 a day. I was accused of being too slow and not spending enough time on the job. I asked to have this chick show me what she was doing. When she showed me how she was processing the photos it took 2 hours for her to process one photo. I pointed that out and they still tried to make it my fault. I was taken off the project and it turned out that I was processing as many photos a day as the chick and the guy they hired to help put together.
