That sounds like it exploits the Stijn phenomenon. The same mechanism used in the fist-to-balls, don't-get-into-a-relationship-with-a-crazy-woman technique.

The tougher the habit, the more pain required to get your attention.

Morning Y'all

slodave 10-30-2012 01:21 AM

Morning, Rick.

Rick V 10-30-2012 01:25 AM

Howdy Dave. You must have been pretty rational to upset someone with a tinfoil hat

slodave 10-30-2012 01:45 AM

Hey, I like to throw caution to the wind at times, myself. But still. :D

Rick V 10-30-2012 01:47 AM

Beth yells at me if I use too much tinfoil. :D

slodave 10-30-2012 01:55 AM

Doesn't take much foil!

Rick V 10-30-2012 02:10 AM

I have a big head.

slodave 10-30-2012 02:17 AM

Just get the extra wide roll. Foil doesn't have to be as thick as the head. ;)

Done with Tuesday already, Jeff? How were the beers?

Outback Porsche 10-30-2012 03:45 AM

Yup, nearly done with Tuesday Dave. I put the beer in my fridge to chill when I got home and there they've stayed there - Haven't had the time to revisit em :( Tomorrow maybe?

Just finished another stubbie of Henninger though ;)

Been busy rebuilding the OS on this PC - PIA!

Last month a world-wide telephone survey was conducted by the UN. The only question asked was:-

"Would you please give your honest opinion about solutions to the food shortage in the rest of the world?"

The survey was a huge failure because of the following:

1. In Eastern Europe they didn't know what "honest" meant.
2. In Western Europe they didn't know what "shortage" meant.
3. In Africa they didn't know what "food" meant.
4. In China they didn't know what "opinion" meant.
5. In the Middle East they didn't know what "solution" meant.
6. In South Africa they didn't know what "please" meant.
7. In the USA they didn't know what "the rest of the world" meant.
8. In Australia they hung up as soon as they heard the Indian accent.

Bwuhahahahahahahaha!

How are things in DC Jim?
Little rain ...little wind here. Never lost power.

Pretty good.

About once a week we get a phone call or email from another company in India that wants us to have them do our mapping. It is sometimes quite funny how bad the English is in the email. I keep explaining that I like having a job and have no intention of sending my job to them.

Hi Pete. Glad to hear things went well for you. I'm not sure about the rest of the city, but my neighborhood seems to have weathered the storm without problem. We had a lot of rain, and a lot of wind, but power stayed on here. Our utilities are underground, so wind and falling trees don't affect them. While walking the dog this morning, I saw some large fallen branches from the oak trees in our local park. Newspaper boxes were blown around. That's about it.

GH85Carrera 10-30-2012 05:42 AM

Good to hear Jim. The media always shows the worst place and infers the entire state or city is like that. No doubt there is some horrific destruction in places.
