No, what you need is one of these to go with the sign.

Replica 917 with a 911 engine.

On my list is building a 550 Spyder replica with a 911 drivetrain. But I want to do some trick suspension stuff since that is my thing. Maybe a different frame, too. But it has to look like a 550. I want the flyscreen, too. Not the Speedster windscreen most people put on them.

Alarick, from the pix, I see you were on the turkey run. What do you mean by tank slapper? You spin? I thought it was a slant nose that did.

No. Just wagged the tail four or five times coming out of a corner. It's always exciting when you're driving your car looking out the side window.

I overcooked a corner. I noticed no one was coming in the oncoming lane, so I thought I'd just push for a bit, let the front end hook up, and keep on going. The alternative was to brake (beyond the apex) and kill all my momemtum. So I kept on a little throttle, but when the front end bit, it bit in hard and the tail came around on me a little. Not too bad, so I kept my foot in the throttle. But then the tail wagged back the other way. Then the other way. Then the other way. Tires screeching, hands madly steering one way and then the other. By around the fourth or fifth swing of the pendulum, I thought I was actually going to lose it (how embarrassing, as there were two or three cars right behind me) and backed off the throttle. But then the oscillations dampened out, and away I went with a sheepish wave to the guys behind.

Good on you for saving it. There have been a few times during ax where the rear starts to swing back and forth, it gets worse and I give up.

There's a guy on my FB list that owns a Porsche, but I'm not sure if he is on Pelican. When I posted a couple pix of oil change the other night, he asked what oil I use. When I mentioned Shell Rotella T1 40 wt., he get a bit upset and defensive. Said that the modern oils were good and since the Rotella is primarily for diesel equipment, I'm doing harm. He linked Charles Navarro's link to oil - which shows that the SJ formula the Rotella I use is recommended. I explained to him again that it is okay for my year 911, but have yet to hear back from him.

Yeah, I was just about to that point--the thought ran through my mind. And then the wagging slowed and I was pointed straightish, so I steered out of it and floored it.
