I don't think the test was really designed for kids bikes that end up in the mud, hosed off and left to dry in the sun or left on the lawn when the sprinklers were turned on. It was more for the slight rust that can build up on shop tools - inside a dry building. :D

It's still funny how the original version of WD-40 beat out the new improved formula that designed to fight rust.
