If you have the money to play with, go with some R compounds. But once you do, you'll never go back and therein lies the money issue. How often do you drive the 930 to Bakersfield or Oxnard these days?

I take the 911 to those places maybe once per month, max. I don't know if I'm fast enough to warrant the additional cost of R-compounds. There's time to be made up in other places than just tires. Behind the wheel ,as opposed to around the wheels. And if the NT05s only lasted me 6K miles, I'm afraid of how short-lived NT01s will be.

I've been callin' to see if you're interested in getting together for lunch or something.

It's also what you do with your 930. Street driving doesn't warrant R compounds, but they do look cool and do turn heads! If you plan to do more AX's or DE's, then they do have some merit, but yes, your 930 (as my 911) has more to offer in stock form and we just don't know how to use it.

I'm leaning towards the NT05s. Time is the biggest reason for not doing more AXs. $$$$ is the biggest reason for not getting into DEs.

I met a guy at Hugh R's once. Apparently this guy is big into POC racing--runs a 944 with a LS6 motor. Super enthusiastic about the racing experience and high level of driver training in POC. I'd **love** to do it, but I have nowhere near the money nor time to get into racing, even at a Spec Miata level.
