Dipsheet starbucks barista didn't know how to make cafe cubano so I just asked for a sextuple espresso.......blank stare........we're all going to hell in a handbasket made by the retards our public education system has produced

How to make specialty coffee is not something taught in any public school. If Starbucks doesn't teach them, I highly doubt they would know it before going to work there....

It's just coffee, chill the eff out dude...

I knew you couldn't fall asleep so early!

Why so cold? Turn the heat on.

Fleets Phosphosoda? Or Golytely?

Porsche-poor 01-07-2013 09:58 PM

The later. Cursed with bad genes. At least I'm on the five year plan. My brother is on the two year plan.

Noah930 01-07-2013 10:00 PM

Golytely is torture. The volume you have to drink is just insane. Is there some reason you can't take Fleets Phosphosoda?

Porsche-poor 01-07-2013 10:01 PM

Oh and whoever named it that should be shot. Then shot again.

slodave 01-07-2013 10:01 PM

He has a sadistic Doctor?

Porsche-poor 01-07-2013 10:03 PM

Did that last time. This is just what the doc ordered. Maybe tomorrow I'll bring a big hammer to the test.

Noah930 01-07-2013 10:04 PM

I've done one bowel prep. 12 oz of Fleets Phosphosoda (or whatever the volume of that single small bottle) is way preferable to the awful tasting gallons of Golytely you have to consume. Even with that lemon lime flavor, it does not taste anything like a Sprite.

One lesson learned: Fleets Phosphosoda tastes like concentrated seawater. Chilling it somehow makes it more palatable. Second lesson learned: even though there's lag time between starting the bowel prep and when you actually start passing stuff from down below, it's probably not wise to start a bowel prep while coming home on a road trip. Particularly if Watkins Glen is a 6-7 hour drive from home (Boston). Getting through that last tollbooth on the Pike on a Sunday night can take forever.

Porsche-poor 01-07-2013 10:06 PM

Don't make me laugh......

Noah930 01-07-2013 10:07 PM

'cause something might leak out the other end?

Porsche-poor 01-07-2013 10:08 PM

Nope all gone. Just nausea now. I really just rather be dead.

Noah930 01-07-2013 10:10 PM

So, by the time we got home (Boston), I was dying to get to the bathroom. Thank God we made it. And thank God my wife (then GF) had her bedroom next to the bathroom in her apt.

At one point in the middle of the night I got up to relieve myself. I left her bedroom at 2 am. I got back at 5 am. When I climbed back into bed, she asked me if I had taken a shower. She thought that what had been coming out my rear end, as copious as it was, had been me running the shower.

Porsche-poor 01-07-2013 10:12 PM

Not a summer vacation thats for sure. One slight step worse than the food I ate last spring break down there.

Noah930 01-07-2013 10:19 PM

You probably already know, but it's worth repeating that with all the fluid losses you're having from the bowel prep, make sure you stay hydrated with water. You'll feel less crappy (pardon the pun). You may have less nausea. And when they start an IV tomorrow, it'll be easier to do so (less misses with the needles) if your veins are plumped up. Unless you have a really cute nurse and don't mind her sticking your arm 4 times to start the IV. Then just remember to snap a pic of her to post on this thread for us.

Bowel preps. Love the topics we cover in this thread. I hated the Fleets but over golytely? Any day! I felt so bad for patients who had to drink golytely. A lot would be nauseous and then throw up the golytely. :( I feel for you, David.

Porsche-poor 01-07-2013 10:32 PM

Its worth it. Lost grandma to it. Dad won. But man do I feel like a bus hit me.
