Pretty annoying though. It is like me critiquing their business without knowing a thing about it. It is really not that great a gig for anyone except the lowest paid who actually do as well or better than their counterparts because they are compensated for clearance...and politically, it is hard to pay them much less.

just got a text from hubs "don't want to be here".... Yea morale is non existent... Especially with a pay cut coming. People haven't been coming to work because they are part time job hunting.

I have to spend the day interviewing interns that are close to completing their 3 year programs. We recruited them from Ivy League colleges to serve on relatively low paying jobs. They send us some questions in advance of the interview. Lots are about sequestration. Gonna be a tough day to sell them on staying "because of a grateful nation." Oh well...I guess we can substitute for them when they leave with some homeless folks. Maybe the guy that sleeps under the bridge that I have to step over every morning on the way to work.

Someone proposed a bill to make uniformed civilian techs exempt from the furlough.

Sounds like a good idea for the military... But since the whole thing is designed for maximum pain, I suspect that they will hold out for a more "grand" solution. Once you stop the pain, there is no incentive to change.

My dog had her health check up last night so she can fly. I have to do this prior to every trip. She realizes we're walking towards the vet's office earlier and earlier every time we go. Totally stresses her out.

I really wish I could get her frequent flyer miles. I have elite status and she's been with me/us on every trip we've taken.

The entire mess in Washington is just incomprehensible. I know most of the politicians go to congress only to enrich themselves and their friends. I understand the allure of power. It is just astonishing that mostly intelligent humans can utterly fail at something as basic as coming up with a budget. The problem is the entire legislative and presidential branches of government.

There is no simple cure. Only history will show what the ultmate price for failure has really cost this nation.

There is one simple cure, elect me king. I can fix everything in one week.

As an Australian, I just don't see the reason why there is such a disconnect between the presidential Branch and the Congressional Branches of government. And to think some republican twits in Australia use the USA as a model for their proposals to change our electoral system and Government structure. sheez!!!
