This is the car 2 years ago when I bought it. It got the engine pulled and rebuilt including all new seals, gaskets, belts, etc. The only thing that didn't get touched was the bottom end, which may still be done. It only had about 94,000 miles on it.

The chassis was straight as can be with only one dent in the nose panel and in need of paint. It will soon be getting a new silver paint job. The corner marker holes in the body are getting filled. For F-Prepared it car run bumperless, so I'm debating options for bumper covers.

The side glass is also in the process of being converted to lexan. The interior has been stripped bare and painted white. The electrical system has been pruned of all non-essential wiring. No radio wiring, no AC system wiring, nothing. Just enough to run the gauges, lights, and ECU.

The plan right now for suspension is to lower it 1.25" all around, with adjustable sways front and rear. I have two sets of wheels, 6" and 7" phone dials to go with. The 7's are what will end up with race rubber, the 6's for driving to and from the track. The spindles were blasted and painted last year, and the hubs were sent to a friend for bearing rebuild and refinishing. I still haven't gotten them back, which is a shame since they are sort of necessary to get the car back on the ground.

I'm still debating on brakes. For autocross, the stock setup with better pads is fine. For track racing at higher speeds, more stopping power may be required.

I'm working on a roll-bar style setup for autocross with the main purpose for harness mounting. A cage isn't obviously necessary for F-prepared.

I also am working on installing a Federal-Mogul piggyback ECU that I can use to control ignition timing and log 10 or 12 channels of data. It's an older ECU with some dated DAQ tools, but it was around $4000 in 1999 money and I've been meaning to use it for a while.

Anyways.. I haven't had time to finish it and most likely won't have time to race it. Plus I want to start autocross-prepping my street 924S.

Price is highly negotiable depending on what all of the above gets done by June, but I'm thinking something in the $4k range. This would be for the entire package, wit ha zero-hour engine and fresh transaxle/drivetrain.

The only part of the drivetrain that I haven't rebuilt is the torque tube, and with only 94,000 miles I don't see that being a big deal.

I will PM you pics later in the year after the paint job and engine goes back in. Save up some money!

Purchasing it will also get you the added benefit of my ass comping down there for a weekend to make sure you get it setup properly.

If you're willing to do the suspension work, I'd let it go for a lot less.

I currently have not touched the suspension other than some bushings and cleaning it up.

I'd have to think about it.

I'm definitely wanting to mate the drivetrain back up to her and get her back on the ground as a roller and painted before I sell, just as a personal goal.

As a roller and nothing more done, I'd say around $2K. But don't hold me to that.

Hmm.... Ok... Still may be out of my price range.... I'd really rather it not be painted.... I would want to change the color....

thinking I better just take the VW money and do what we discussed to my 944 and wait till I can get a 914 to track...

Don't slack too much in school, Sid, you'll regret it later.

By slacking I meant taking a 50question test instead of taking a 3hr a week class...
