Good morning folks.

One of my friends is a retired federal judge. He bought a house in Santa Barbara that was one of the first houses in area with a golf course. The house came with a lifetime membership to the course. He retired in 2004 and sold the house and the membership for so much money that when he retired to Oklahoma City he bought a house with a 6 car garage and 5,000 sq feet on 40 acres. All he really wanted was the garage and the property. He has deer and fox and zillions of birds and even a bald eagle on occasion. He says it is his nature preserve. The lake is just down the hill and that is all corps land and will always be protected. He still had cash left over so he "had" to buy several muscle cars to fill up the garage.

He does not like to mow so he just lets the land be natural except a small area around the house. It is heavily wooded.

All of that because he bought a house in Santa Barbara in the 60s.

I think the HOA rules will prevent me from returning the grassy area to " natural." It does have a three car geage and a storage building though. Maybe a high enough ceiling for a lift.

That is the hole they dug to get to the natural gas line at my dad's house. If you look close there is a man in the hole with a BIG wrench in his hand tightening the connection. Big hole.

Sharyn dragged me out to a Vietnamese restaurant with her bosses tonight. I was told to promise to behave while we were getting ready (apparently, last time I didn't). Bugger me it was hard work but I think I did alright.

Good feed and not bad company.

And I will. So excited. Gonna be hard to concentrate on work when I know that's waiting for me.

Staying with a friend who is gonna be competing in a pole competition this next month! Gonna watch her practice tonight. She is sooooop good. And no, she's not a stripper. She's a nurse practitioner. She is doing another routine on a hanging hoop, like the ones in the shows in Vegas, and her dance partner is a doctor. So see? Get your minds out of the gutter. It is such a beautiful sport.

It's great food, we love it. We're researching for a holiday over to Vietnam in the future. Planning on being there for at least a month and traveling from Ho Chi Minn to Ha Noi, going as native as we can.
