Isn't that the one with the most potent venom of any land snake?

Flieger 07-21-2013 03:21 PM

BTW, I like how you guys ran out of names for snakes. You started with "Inland Taipan" and such, then the early settlers got tired. "Another fkin snake? Alright, we'll call this one brown snake. Now throw another shrimp on the barbie".

Outback Porsche 07-21-2013 03:24 PM

Haha, That's funny Max. Yup, the brown is not the worst but it's well up there. A baby one will kill you a few times over.

Rick V 07-21-2013 03:28 PM

I went round and round with Dave trying to explain that a black snake is called a black snake.

Why is the black tiger snake on there twice?

Rick V 07-21-2013 03:42 PM

Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Rickie is never going to Australia.

porsche4life 07-21-2013 03:42 PM

Damn, you guys have got a monopoly on deadly snakes down there.... ;)

GH85Carrera 07-21-2013 03:43 PM

So 20 of the top 25 are there in Oz. Throw in a few deadly spiders, some super deadly jellyfish and octopus and you have some real fun.

There is one snake around here even Rick could handle. It is about the size of a soda straw. It eats earth worms. It's mouth is so small it can't even try to bite a human. It is not poisnious at all. I have seen several in around the Koi pond.

Rick V 07-21-2013 03:44 PM

Even those snakes scare the crap outa me Glen

Yeah, and they forgot about the Western Brown. Maybe one of those Black Tiger Snakes should be for him.

We mostly have Westerns and Kings (Mulga Snake) around here, although the Mulga Snake is really from the black snake family. It's probably a western brown loose at the moment.

Outback Porsche 07-21-2013 03:56 PM

It's all good, there's a few sets of these strategically placed around the compound. ;)

Back scratchers?

porsche4life 07-21-2013 03:57 PM

A pistol with a mag full of snakeshot would come in handy down there....

nynor 07-21-2013 03:58 PM

that is a lot of poisonous snakes, for sure.

I suppose you could use 'em for that too, but if you don't know how to use one of these properly they do make a good whacking stick. :D

Uh huh

azzarule 07-21-2013 04:41 PM

where I come from in the Australian Capital Territory, it is a conservation area, all native species are "protected" no killing allowed and that goes for snakes... yeah right. If its anywhere near me or my house, it isn't going to be alive for long, that's what really long shovels are for!
