Hard to believe a critter that is less than 1/150th of an inch in size can be that damned annoying!

okay I need a yank translator, I feel like y'all when Jeff blurts out a colloquialism!!!

Whats a chigger?

azzarule 08-16-2013 07:43 PM

Porsche-poor 08-16-2013 07:57 PM

OK Tweeze grab Sid head to Tacoma on 9/22 rock show from 1pm till 10pm Connor plays first 30 min.

RKDinOKC 08-16-2013 07:59 PM

Chigger is a very tiny insect larve that latches on like a teeny tiny tick. And it itches like crazy for about 6 or 7 days. First you gotta kill em, thankfully warm soapy water works, then ya gotta stop the itching or you will go crazy. Usually get them around your ankles and legs below the knees. Itches more than twice as intense as mosquito bites. Think ankle crabs.

Trombiculidae - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Trombiculid mites go through a life cycle of egg, larva, nymph, and adult.[14] The larval mites feed on the skin cells, but not blood, of animals, including humans (see trombiculosis). The six-legged parasitic larva feeds on a large variety of creatures, including humans, rabbits, toads, box turtles, quail, and even some insects. After crawling onto their hosts, they inject digestive enzymes into the skin that break down skin cells. They do not actually "bite", but instead form a hole in the skin called a stylostome, and chew up tiny parts of the inner skin, thus causing severe irritation and swelling. The severe itching is accompanied by red, pimple-like bumps (papules) or hives and skin rash or lesions on a sun-exposed area. For humans, itching usually occurs after the larvae detach from the skin.[15]

I wish I could but I am going to be visiting him in Oklahoma. :) I will keep looking at his gigs though. Really want to them live! And now with a chick in the band...

GH85Carrera 08-16-2013 08:11 PM

Chiggers are also called redbugs in the deep south states like Alabama. They are a real nuisance. I have not had any chiggers in 25 or 30 years. Fortunately they don't hang out in the city.

GH85Carrera 08-16-2013 08:18 PM

I gotta get up a little early tomorrow I need to do a quick clean up on the 911. We have a car show at the local Hooters. After the show I will finally have a chance to do a good clean up and full wax on the 911. It has needed it since the trip to Michigan.

RKDinOKC 08-16-2013 08:22 PM

Wow, I really didn't realize just how much time i spent every day taking care of Mom.
