the central collection point in the Harry Potter cupboard under the stiars looked like spaghetti junction, then I installed a patch panel to terminate all of the cables, then... I employed data techs to come and terminate the other ends at each room, I just couldn't be bothered doing that stuff.

Yeah, attic work is no fun unless you have a very steep pitched roof. And no itchy fiberglass insulation. I strike out on both counts. I need to pull more tomorrow and possibly Wednesday. For the TV cabling, I'm going to get a wiring panel to keep it from being a rats nest.

Last time I needed wiar runned had a friend what were one o them thar ATT Uverse installerators do it fer me. Amazin. Was only up thar fer bout 10 minute and not only runned them wiars but put shiny new ends on all my tv coax Too bad he got promoted and don't do that stuff no more.

If I get around that fluffy itchy stuff up there my skin turns all red and itches. Have to dose up on the Benedryl to tolerate life for the next few days. Me thinks I'm lethargic or something.

As hot a shower as you can stand Jim, and the bits of fiberglass will wash out of your pores in no time.

The day after we took possession of this house I headed into the attic to install the central vacuum system. I spent a week drilling holes to bring the PCV pipes for the vacuum and dragging power and the control wires into place. I hired an electrician to make the connections and double check my work. I had to build a pathway up there. I charge 50 grand CASH to do central vacuum installs, plus parts cost in case anyone is interested in my services.

RKDinOKC 12-09-2013 09:57 PM

I tried asking, said he doesn't have the tools any more.

Morning Y'all
Winter storm warning today until 3pm. I'll bet it won't start doing anything until after I get to work

RKDinOKC 12-10-2013 04:51 AM

This is too early and cold for me to be waking up.

Outback Porsche 12-10-2013 05:00 AM

Ahhh, fart sack here I come.

Lets crank that AC down to 18C and pull the dooner up :)

pete3799 12-10-2013 05:24 AM

Pull your dooner up?..........maybe I don't want to know........

RKDinOKC 12-10-2013 05:43 AM

dooner or sometimes doona = duvet or blanket i.e. covers

not to be confused with donger

If all he needs is the crimpers for the Cat 5 cable I have some of those and of course the ends. He may just not want to do it and I fully understand that. I HATE attic work. I need to do a few things up in my attic and now is the time of year to do it. I just can't motivate myself to get up there and do it.

Good morning folks. It was a balmy 11 degrees this morning.

I saw an article in the newspaper that Antarctica had a spot that recorded the lowest temp ever on earth. -138 degrees. That is colder than dry ice!

RKDinOKC 12-10-2013 05:57 AM

I'm sure he is referring to also the drill to poke a hole in the header and a wire snake at least.

Porsche-poor 12-10-2013 06:44 AM

Heat wave here. Got up and temp is 31.

RKDinOKC 12-10-2013 07:11 AM

Currently 16°F here.

azzarule 12-10-2013 07:50 AM

I have a midget at home on a snow day, and I feel cheated there is no snow, sigh.

On the upside, I am about to start making more Bundy Rum Balls to put in the fridge for Xmas.!!

GH85Carrera 12-10-2013 07:53 AM

We are all happy to see the sun is still up in the sky. It has been a week since there has been any real sunshine. It might break the freezing mark this afternoon.

Porsche-poor 12-10-2013 08:03 AM

we should break that mark in just a few hours and begin the slow climb back to normal.
