Ice storms... A mythical thing to me. Amazing to me that a branch could look like that. I wouldn't be able to live in a place that is cold. Or it would take me a long time to get used to it.

Jeff, your puppy is so cute!!!
Ta Tweeze, we think he's very cute too (and he knows it).

Trees are great until stuff starts falling out of them…including leaves.

Yup....

Actually, what's really winning right now is a late 80s targa.....The Jag really became a toy car when I bought the disco so no reason to not replace it with something I can put cheap collectors insurance on.

Higher numbers after the 9?

Don't know, never had a 911 variant, just 914, 928, 952, 986.

I've been on a 964 (C2 coupe) infatuation of late (ask slodave). But that article in this month's Excellence has put a binder on that. Not that the 964 is a bad car. I'd still like one. But it's not as cheap/DIY friendly as an earlier Carrera/SC.

Isn't the 964 the one that the RS America was based on?
RS America was really popular for club racing until everyone went to the GT3.

Yes, the RS America was a clubsport version of the C2 964. Barer interior, lowered IIRC by 30 mm or so, fixed rear wing, lightened. I have never driven one, but they seem to me to command a higher price premium than what the (on paper) modifications would suggest is reasonable.

Sorry to see your roof took a hit Richard. Today while my dad and I were doing some cleaning of the garage and I inspected #3 spark plug (one of the misfiring cylinders, plug looked good) the ice cream man drove by into the apartment parking lot across the street. I was thinking of a demotivational poster of most of the US freezing and meanwhile in Southern California we are getting ice cream from the ice cream man, on the shortest day of the year.

Mmmm Ice cream

I don't mind the 964 either - I've been lusting over one I found a couple of weeks ago. I'm gunna have to keep lusting for a little while longer though. I'm not allowed another Porsche just yet , someone else wants a bathroom reno, and a garden landscaped, and a library built, and a new hot water service, and, and, and,..........

I'm cooking a Turkey for the first time this Christmas. Anyone want to share recipes, tips, etc? Other than what's written on the packaging and what I can find on the net, I'm clueless. Seeing that you lot have your turkey day, I figure y'all are the turkey cooking gurus.
